this morning. somewhere above 10,000'



it was a working morning as i had portrait clients to meet. from what i've seen of the portraits i shot, the came out great. long day but productive. felt great to finally have someone take me up on my 'adventure portrait' idea. hopefully, i can start getting some more of these.

The only time I get to hang out with a bunch of women half naked in satin robes and tell them what to do, wedding photography.



These country guys all own pickups, no Toyotas, kept calling me Captain Tundra all day.

 

ha! can totally relate to the one. getting flown to CT next weekend to shoot a wedding. i have a feeling it's going to get crazy.

 

Just wrapped up stills on my portrait session from Sunday. Pretty stoked with how they came out.



Some of them could have benefited from the small strobe and battery pack I had packed. However, the wind was a bit much and even a small octobox would have been a giant sail. Last time I checked, flying light stands are usually not a good thing...

You better believe it. They were trashed at the city estate house taking pics. I pose all my shots, by the time I got to the last person, I had to come back to the beginning and redo the first few because I had 21 people to set up every time! Then at the end I guess someone called the cops on us because we were too loud. Nobody got arrested, they were mainly looking for open cans.

I like to inject humor, here I told the guys to not let him out and they almost ripped his suit after this lol

the hardest part of any project, especially personal ones, is that first step. i've had this in my head for a long time and this morning was the first step. it's a motion and stills project of people i term 'creators'. it isn't just about art. it's about anyone that creates something with their hands. i think i'm off to a good start and i'll be going through some of the video footage later today. for now, just a single still.

 

View out my front door the other day, managed to get the lighting just right. Coyote this morning, photos not that great since I scrambled to grab my camera. But cool nevertheless.
