This is the first ive heard of this^^^ i would make damn sure its meant for a 4wd truck. I have lowered a 4 wd tundra at work. Customer bought a kit that turned the rear to spring under using the same springs. It was kind of fun to install, because i always lift trucks... handled like a damn camry, it was cool.

The tundra leaf springs are practically flat as they are now. I am not sure how a new leaf spring would be flatter to lower unless its inverted.
Like Jace said swapping to spring under would be the best way to lower.

What about after flipping the axle, adding the Toytec shackles with 1"-1.5" lift to get back closer to level?

So I've been told removing a leaf will drop the end end to level it out. Anyone have an opinion on this ? I realize payload/towing will be effected, what will happen to handling ?

    Digging up an old thread.
Did you have any luck lowering just the rear?
I would like to do the same.

    Damn.
Still hope someone will reply who has leveled the rear of the truck in some way.
I have read Removing overload spring will cause axle wrap. I would add airbags for hauling my sled but not sure that would help keep the axle from hopping.

Technically you could remove the overload spring and add traction bars to avoid axle wrap and hop.

I used the complete kit from SOS Performance, along with a custom set of leaf spring from Alcan because my original leaf springs were toast. The results are better than expected, the truck rides and handles so much better and it sits level.

I'm not sure about that URLs stability, you may want to print then read.

Here is my '07 RWD, I lowered the rear the least amount possible and I left the front alone.
I'm sure it will work perfectly well with a 4WD truck.

How did you get the “least amount of lowering possible”?
If you increase the psi in the airbags will the rear lift up a bit?
    Sorry for all the questions

Attaching the leaf springs to the lowest hole on the shackle as pictured here gives you the least amount of drop, and yes the air bags will lift rear a bit as you inflate them.

Edit: the higher up you go on the shackle, the lower it draws the rear end down.

Did you have to shorten the exhaust too?

Yes, it's currently dumped in front of the axle.

I recently picked up a new take-off tail pipe, and plan to install it when I install the Dirty Deeds cat-back Keith is making for me. I will have to shorten or bend this tail pipe, but it will reach beyond the rear axle either way.

I have been looking at the SOS kit. It seems to be the most drop for the money. Will the TRD rear sway bar work on non TRD's models? Also, Has anyone tried the DJM kit that goes 3" in the front?

I had the DJM front kit and had issues with it. My oem 20” wheels made contact with the lower ball joint. It was promptly returned.
Running the rear sway bar isn’t an issue with the sos bracket kit.
Like others have mentioned I found the best combo to be bell tech springs if 2wd along with a TRD blue and red strut up front.
Out back the sos flip with helper bags and sway bracket along with shorter yellow and blue bielstien shocks kept things tight. I went a step above and added caltracs to prevent axle wrap.

If interested I have a complete kit available, everything needed. Interested pm me

I would like more details on that .... I really want the maximum "static" drop w/out bags ..

Are you on the 1/3.75" drop or 2/4"? Got any more info on the Alcan leafs? I'll likely replace the factory leafs for beefier ones. Will be throwing a supercharger on next year!
