2nd gen shifter squeak

How many have the blessings of hearing your shifter squeak every time you move it ? I went to my toyota dealer and said it was the cover slide . Well hear I sit in my truck apart and I guarantee it's not that . Any solutions 2nd gen fam?

 

Mine did it too when I bought it. I cleaned it and it helped a lot, I still hear it every now and then, kinda makes you want to spray some kind of lube in there lol.

 

I fixed it now I removed the center console and right behind the shifter there is a little piece of metal held on by a nice little shiny Phillips head remove that little piece of metal and problem solved . I couldn't tell you why that make that noise but it's gone now
