My new addition is a Jeep Cherokee XJ....

I just purchased and installed these new headlights. Easy plug and play for the lo/hi beams. However, they have 2 wires for drl and blinkers. Not much of a "diagram" for it. What to attach those wires to (side markers?) (Color to cut into?)

Help!! You guys seem to be more helpful then the Jeep forums

    IMG_20181006_114759.jpg

Here are some upgrades.... Replaced the headlights with some LEDs, replaced the side markers, blinkers, tails, and 3rd brake to smoked lights.

Also threw on a black grill and polished her all up... Lookin new again.IMG_20190515_174204.jpgIMG_20190515_174223.jpg IMG_20190515_174840.jpg

Good looking XJ! I've had 3 of them they're great vehicles as long as they have rocker panels left.

Side marker would be the easiest place to pull power from, the color escapes me at the moment but I've got a FSM I can consult shortly.

    Awesome build.

I would assume you splice or tap your turn signal (blinker wire on each side) into the yellow wire and splice or tap your parking lights (corner lens on each side) to the red wire.

I am hoping to start an XJ, TJ or YJ, or Land Cruiser build in the next year depending on how things shake out.

That's where I was gonna go today when I get home from work. I think splicing would be better then cutting.. lol. So this is what I am getting. I may need to add some wire because they are a bit stubby.

I would have loved to get a land cruiser... They are just so pricey!

Looks like you are on the right track to me!

They are, it will likely come down to whatever I can find that is clean. No point in going with a LC if it is a rust bucket.

Good luck, let us know how they turn out.

You'll want brown on the driver side and tan on the passenger side. Run the ground back to the bolt inside the engine bay above the headlights.

Also pack those taps full of dielectric grease before you use them to prevent corrosion.

I have a yellow and red wire on the new headlights. Where do those go to?

Can't I somehow just run both them to the side marker?

I think the side marker will likely work for the red, DRL but I don't think it'll work for the turn indicator unless the side marker IS a turn indicator.

My fault I missed the colors on the light and what they did since I was looking at it on my phone and I goofed on a wire color

Red from the lights would go to brown on the drivers side, dark green/yellow on the passenger side.
Yellow would go to light green on the drivers side, tan on the passenger side.

Those colors will be easy to tap into right at the signal light under the headlight.

Nice XJ! Not to hijack further, but I wanted one so bad but couldn't find one in the timeframe that I needed that wasn't waaayyyy overpriced or full of rust and still overpriced, so instead I went with this little badass:20180730_132950.jpg
I loved it, the wife hated it, so to compromise I sold it and the '72 GMC K10 in the background and bought a new Tundra. Now I'm here.

    Good luck with the wiring.
