I have a 2015 Tundra with the TRD package and I bought the Bilstein 5100 adjustable front and 5100 rear. The truck is at the shop waiting for me to decide top or middle setting on front shocks.

I have read way too many posts and looked at too many pictures on this forum and now I can’t decide which setting. Here is what I would like to accomplish:

    1. Truck to look level
    2. Smoothest ride since I drive mostly on the street with family
    3. I do have a pop up tent trailer I tow but not all the time of course

I am leaning towards middle setting, but looking for last minute recommendations

I would go with the middle setting. Middle setting will lift the front about 1.57" so you will have a slight rake. 2" is about dead-level so the top setting will be a tad high in front if you do not lift the back. I have my 5100's set at the middle with a cb shim on each side and this gave me 2" of lift. When I towed my popup trailer or was loaded I was nose high so I added shackles to the back to compensate.

Because I don’t think it’s a pro. It just has it in his signature. But if I look closely it looks like regular TRD rims. So it’s a TRD off-road not a TRD pro LOL

Mine is an SR5 with the TRD package. Swapped out the stock yellow bilstein shocks for 5100's.

Did you do the 5100 front and back or just front?

I did 5100's on the front and back. The ride (IMO) is better than the stock TRD pro shocks. On the back I have Toytec shackles set at 1".

    5100 middle setting, stock rears
I have 5100 up front on middle setting, stocks in the rear. Truck rides as smooth as it did with the 4600's, maybe a tad stiffer.

Do you mean the Bilstein bypass Pro shocks, or are you talking about the TRd off-road shocks? Because I would say my TRD Pro shocks that I installed, ride awesome. Smooth yet stiff where I need them to be.

Just the yellow TRD offroad shocks - not the TRD Pros. (If I had the Pros I would not have changed them out.)

Funny my phone repeated itself LOL.

I was going to say! No offense to the 5100s but if you already had pro shocks and ditch them for a non-bypass shock I would want to know why? Unless the Pro shocks took crap and it’s a budget thing then I totally understand. Until I found a good deal on used pros I was highly considering the 5100s. But now that I have bypass I would probably upgrade to a 2 1/2 inch bypass shock when the time comes.

LOL. The 5100's were a nice upgrade from stock but after installing them I changed how I want to use my truck so now I am looking at upgrading to 2 1/2" shocks (Radflow, Icon, King, etc.).

Stock for now, but have TRD Rear Sway bar for it.
Looks awesome!!! Did you get any measurements on the front by chance, before and after. I am about to do the same thing, but measured today on flat surface and am exactly 3" difference between front and rear. 36" high in front and 39 1/4" rear. Thinking middle setting and a single coachbuilder shim. Thanks.

I ordered 5100s (planning on middle setting), 2 driver side and 1 passenger side shims, and +2 CB shackles to fit the 18x9 +25 Method Double Standard wheels with 285/70 18 Nitto RGs that I bought and waiting to install. What are the specs for your rims and tires? I'm trying to gauge how much modification, if any, I'll need to do in the front wheel well. Thanks!

I am running SCS wheels - 18x9 w/ +25 offset with GY 295/65s. I had to remove the front mud flap and push the front liner forward - no trimming.

285/70s are about .6” taller and .4” narrower than what I am running. I think you will be fine with that size.

I’ve seen Picts of others with 285/70 and it looks good. Be sure to post Picts when you get everything installed.

I really think middle setting is the way to go. Gives it a nice level stance without doing anything to the rear and firms it up just right. I don't think there is a better way to level now that I have done it. I am actually mad I didn't do it sooner or just do a spacer lift initially to level the stance. Leveled looks so good. I did middle setting and a single CB shim on each side in the front and gained almost exactly 2 1/4" of front lift. I have about 3/4" difference between front and rear. I'll post more pictures later.
