    Good morning Fellas,

I thought after lurking around numerous diff threads here I came to a conclusion on the suspension purchase.

Bilstein 6112 fronts (top setting 2.5")
    Bilstein 5160 rears
    TC control arms
    Coachbuilder rear shackles +3
Coachbuilder Driver Side .5" shim (to compensate driver side lean)

but I got to think...... Since I have an order with Southern Style for a Hybrid bumper and Warn Zeon Platinum 10 S winch (total of 160lbs) + eventual settling in of the suspension.

Should have I just gone with:

Toytec or Icons adjustable coilover fronts?
    1. So i do not need to get the CB shim driver side and just adjust the coilover to fix the lean.
    2. And use the spanner wrench to adjust the coilovers once the suspension has settled and the weight of front bumper and winch.
    3. The ease of adjusting coil preload once everything settles.

Coachbuilder rear shackles +3 or +2? (would +3 give me too much rake?)
    1. +2 since front weight (bumper and winch) will drop the front more.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Tough call 'cause it's such a personal decision. I mean, how important to you is that lean? How do you use your truck? CB shackles are super nice but make it very difficult to fit a 35" spare. Toytec shackles offer 2 settings at 1" and 1.5". With the weight you're putting up front, get the best C/O your wallet can handle would be my suggestion.

If you don’t mind paying extra, then definitely go with adjustable front coilovers. I’ve ran 3 sets of adjustables on a couple Tacomas I once owned. I now run 6112s on the Tundra. Although they’re a fantastic and affordable upgrade, I’ll likely spend the extra on a set of adjustables when it comes time to replace them. There’s nothing like the relative ease of cranking the collar up and down the shock body to get the desired ride height you want whenever you want. Then follow up with a front alignment with Firestone’s lifetime alignment special and you’re good to go. No need to remove, disassemble, then reinstall everything all over again until you get the height you want.

    Thanks for the input guys!

@831Tun we do a lot of wilderness camping. Not going to go much wheelin'. I just want to do it correctly the first time and no buyer's remorse.

I have that exact setup with the CB +2 shackles and i have approximately 3/4" of rake. I love my setup, and will be adding a bunch of weight with bumpers, winch, lights and skids. Although i am probably about a month and a half out from doing so. With that being said, once i get everything added to the truck ill know if my 6112s are going to cut it. Worse case scenario, i have to buy me some adjustables with bigger springs.

@Larmand thanks for the input bro!

    How many CB shims upfront w/ your 6112s? 2 driver & 1 passenger OR 1 driver & 0 passenger?

Yup that's what i was calculating with the CB shackles. So if i put more weight upfront with the bumper and winch then rake will be more obvious with the +3s. If i bought the adjustables from start then i can just get the spanner and realign.

I have 1 CB shim on driver side. Yes wth +3s itll be more obvious. If you are going for a level look, i think +2s should sufice, if you want the rake look then go with the +3s. I think the key is gonna be how the Bilstein coils hold all the added weight. If this is something you are waiting 2 months to do id gladly be able to show pics when i get it all done. Otherwise i hope someone else will chime in and show so.e pics because id like to see as well.

Im just curious on how many tundra people here with coilovers actually adjust their coils after it settles and when they add more stuff up on the front end?

I’d say go with the adjustables. Seems to be a much better option than shims, not to mention the ability to crank up/down to whatever height you prefer.

The extra cash would be worth it IMO.

Exactly. I bought blocks for my 3/1 and ended up paying more to upgrade to Toytec coilovers. Take it from me, pay once, cry once. LOL

If I would've gone with adjustables, I would've already cranked mine up a bit more. When I had them on my old Tacomas, I adjusted them up and down about once or twice a year. Always got an alignment afterwards.
