    Hey folks,

First post here, thanks for the incredible amount of knowledge on the site. It's helped tremendously as I've started making some customizations to my Tundra. And a shoutout to @lawrenceb for the tips on finding and negotiating on the TRD.

Since I started dreaming about Tundras, I wanted to cut out the grille to expose a light bar flush with the grille. Yet, of course, the lower portion of the grille houses the cruise control radar module. Are folks with these radar units installing light bars in the upper portion of the OEM grille? I'd much prefer to go flush with the grille rather than put it behind it. And it's be a waste of a light bar to put behind the module. I guess I could go in the bumper, I like like the idea of a 40" rather than a shorter one.

    Welcome to the party!!

You have a few options. 1st is you can go in the upper portion of the grille. 2nd you can go in the hood bulge. 3rd you can go in the lower bumper valance.

I personally would not go in the lower grille being that is where the sensor is located. Just my .02

@Omohundro Heck yeah, Wyatt Johnson was great. I'll drive right past a couple unnamed dealers closer to me in Nashville and Franklin to go to them in the future.

@Larmand cool great advice. Now I just need to decide between the bumper install and the behind the grille install. Has anyone cut the TRD Pro grille to get the light bar flush with the grille itself?

You can fit a 40" bar in the bumper and the hood bulge. Both are @Baja Designs lights.

Put one in both hood scoops, it's just a matter of time and I bet someone does it.

buy 2 short ones and mount them where you originally wanted to install it by splitting the difference on either side of the sensor. depending on where you live and drive the missing 6 leds wont make a bit of difference for that 3% of the time that the light bar is actually turned on.

Nice truck. Not a fan of the 19 Pro grills. My vote goes for the LB in the Bulge and/or in the bumper like the truck shown above

So far a 30in rigid light bar and a 20in rigid curve lightbar both in front end
I have a 20in double stack rigid midnight curve series just a little lower than the Toyota badge rn will raise it to be right behind the badge when I can get new brackets made. And a 30in rigid bar in the lower section. Still get alot of light out impo

I put mine in the bumper but agree that behind the grill would be sweet too like Jphan1226 did.
Seen people put them in the scoops too and it works well. Yet to see the second scoop done but agree it's only a matter of time.
Personally on the white TRDP with all the black on the front end I prefer the scoops staying black and not having light bars in them...but different strokes for different folks.
