It seems that black everything has been the trend for the past 5 years plus. Black wheels, black bumpers, emblems, mirrors, windows and grills. Then the description " MURDER BLACK" was born and trend hatched. Back in the day we used to polish up the chrome on a car until it was so bright you needed sunglasses just to drive it...at night!. Which ever way you pick it's going to cost money and time. To me when I see solid black wheels my first thought is, Did that guy get his hub caps stolen? just to find out NO I painted them that way. The silence and open mouth on my face said it all. Don't get me wrong Black wheels have there place off road and mudding because who cares how your wheels look especially if you carrying around 400 pounds of mud on your truck. My conclusion is that if you were born in the sixties or before your a chrome person. If you were borne in the seventies or later your a black out fan.

I would never add more chrome to my truck, but I don’t mind the chrome that is there. I think it complements the inferno color well. Black with chrome looks great. White with chrome not so much. Good news is that we don’t have to answer to anyone else when it comes to the look of our trucks!

Well, I fall in the chrome generation but I hate the maintenance so I'm a convert of sorts. I think something like gun metal on a black truck looks really good. But, since my truck is always caked in mud, my wheels are black.

I’m slowly converting too. But not really by choice. Once my rear chrome bumper is gone, I’m going to have to address the grille. :(

to be honest I like the blacked out look but chrome looks really good if you do it right and I think that requires a lot more work overall I think its easier to just black everything out but if done right chrome looks awesome

Not necessarily black out but body color with black accents is my favorite.

Chrome is too shiny for me.

I was a fan of the chrome. My previous Tundra and GMC shined. Hell the big selling point for me on the GMC was the how good the wheels looked. Then I got a Jeep. Chrome on a Jeep looks terrible.
My Tundra has a little chrome left but I prefer black.

If I'm being honest I like blacked out better and I've had several vehicles over the last decade that were blacked out. My Tundra now has a bit of chrome and it's growing on me and it's not worth changing. I'm also a bit over the blacked out look. When the time comes to change my wheels I may go bronze.

Chrome are for old men and women with old fashioned trucks like Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. Blackouts are for the kuul people in this world. They people that are the movers and shakers in the world. The Tom Brady-ies, Clint Eastwoods, Jeff Bezos, and Tundra Owners of the world.

Fads come and go. Do what you think looks good.

I loved the pro look. Blacked out and "old school" Toyota across the front instead of the emblem. If they had Toyota in chrome it would have been a tougher decision. Good luck with yours
