Hey fellas, I'm trying to move some appointments so I make the drive up north to Sacramento later this month for the SAC DAP Tune. I'm in Fremont and the chances of me making it to get the tune done is relatively high.

I was hoping someone here can give me some honest feedback on the TRD Intake. Still baffles me when i remember that my TRD Pro doesnt have the TRD intake.

Should I get it to work in concert with the DAP tune?

I've been told the simple AFE drop in filter with the Tune is pretty much the same thing?

Will I get or notice anything advantages or should I just stick with the stock box and elect to go with the drop in AFE DAP is offering?

    Thanks in advance.

Stick with stock airbox unless you just want the truck to sound louder without any performance gain. On our trucks any CAI robs you of low end power/torque. DAP guys will confirm this.

Like Greg (@Bo-Hunter) said, there's no (proven) performance gain so the TRD CAI is just expensive eye candy. It is nice to have a washable filter. I've got a TRD CAI but only because it was used and super cheap.

Hey man. Curious what you’re trying to get out of this tune? It’s the custom dyno tune correct? I just got an 18 SR5/TRD and Sac isn’t actually too far from me

    Thanks in advance

just overall improvement of the vehicles performance. Shift points, gas, governor delete. Pretty much what you would expect from any other tune in any other car. I’ve just heard nothing but great things about DAP. Its relatively cheaper than the remote version and it’s undetectable.
