    Guys,
I mentioned this in another thread, but a DAP tune event has been set up in the Sacramento area (Lincoln). Looks like 25 trucks have signed on including the only three supercharged spots, there are still openings for naturally aspirated engines. If anyone is interested you can now sight up for and place your deposit. It’s $175 non-refundable, with $300 due at time of tune.

what are the benefits of the in person tune vs remote tuner? Remote you can remove when you bring it to the dealer....in person you dont have to, but is it possible for the dealer to over write the tune? then what happends?

I can't personally say, but from what all I have read and understand is; the remote tune is detectable, but can be removed and install by the owner vs the in person event tune which is said to be undetectable but also kind of permanent. Although I am not 100% sure how the difference is possible.

Yes that is true. I have a remote tune and I uninstall it when heading to the dealer. Dealer can detect the tune if they went looking for it. When the tune is written in person, the tune is undetectable by the dealer. You can't uninstall the tune if done in person.
I do highly recommend the tune, been very pleased. As for installing the tune yourself it's extremely easy to install and uninstall.

You don't have to keep uninstalling the and reinstalling the tune every time you head to the dealer. If you don't uninstall the remote tune the dealer could write over the tune with a new update, result lost tune. Tune also void your warranty if the dealer finds it. I always uninstall mine before dealer visits.

Interesting. It almost seems like a better option to have the versitility of being able to install/uninstall it vs having it locked in forever .

If the dealer does a reflash or update to an in person tuned truck, will it remove the tune?

Now that is a good question. I would think yes, but don’t really know. I can find out.

Yes the article was vague on what engine type. Find it hard to believe my cat is disabled with my DAP tune.

Yes very much so. Noticable improvement, mainly in shift points and low end torq. Extremely easy to install and uninstill tune as well.

Hey fellas, I'm trying to move some appointments so I make the drive up north to Sac. I'm in Fremont. Chances of me making it to get the tune done is relatively high. I was hoping someone here can give me some honest feedback on the TRD Intake. Should I get it to work in concert with the tune? I've been told the simple AFE drop in filter with the Tune is pretty much the same thing? Thanks in advance.
