Double checking .... 5100's

    Ok ya'll, I think I've got this stuff right but I want to double check because I hate redoing things and having to get more stuff after the fact to finish it correctly. Install will be sometime in early October with new tires.

    I have a 2010 4x4 Double Cab with 106,680 miles.

    Fender measurements are ...
    Front left - 37"
    Front right - 37"
    Rear left - 39 7/8"
    Right rear - 40"

    I have 2 Bilstein 5100 (PN 24-232173) front shocks set to the middle setting. Also have 2 Bilstein 5100 (PN 24-186971) for the rear.

    As I understand, the middle setting is 1.57" of lift (according to their instructions) and does not require the diff drop or strut shims. Also the rear needs nothing else.

    My questions are..

    1. Is this everything I need besides an alignment? I believe so.

    2. If I decide to add 1" blocks to the rear should I use tapered or flat blocks? Does it matter at 1 inch?

    3. With above blocks will I need a carrier bearing drop kit to keep the driveshaft angles in tact? If it's a tapered block doesn't that discount needing the CB drop kit?

    4. I have read you don't need a diff drop kit with less than 3" of lift. Is it good practice to get it anyway to keep the CV shaft flat and reduce wear? Or is that possibly setting the diff to low with only 1.5" of lift?

    5. With both front fenders measuring the same there is no need for shims, or would a shim up front help even out the rear?

    Lastly attached are the bushings on the upper shock mounts for the rear.
    Would you agree they should be replaced? If so any part number?

    Again I'm wanting to do this in one shot and not doing it multiple times.

    1. Yes that should be everything you need.
    2. Dont use blocks, use shackles. If you are dead set on using blocks, use tapered.
    3. Dont use blocks, use CB shackles, when you order from CB they will come with the spacers, easy 5 minute job.
    4. Not sure, but i didnt do a diff drop and im still not sold on it unless doing a bigger lift.
    5. I only used a shim on driver front, to account for lean from larger fuel tank. Otherwise 9 wouldnt use a shim. If you want a shim for more lift, use higher setting on strut.
    6. I would replace the bushings, those look bad. Not sure on part number. Check with @Roman our local parts guru.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm going to track down the bushing numbers for both front and rear. Figure that's good insurance. If the rear looks like that the front probably will too possibly worse considering engine bay heat.

    I'll forego getting anything else until after I test drive once the 5100's are in and realigned.
