I read somewhere on the forums that anthracite grey from plastidip matches mgm. Anyome know of any other colors?

I used that on my old BMW's wheels. You would have to add some sort of metallic flake to get it anywhere close, but it's still not going to match. It's a good looking color though. What are you wanting to Plastidip?

I just tried using Athracite gray yesterday with glossifier.. Close to a match, but slightly lighter than MGM.. Not noticeable when just looking at the truck, but noticeable if you know it's plasti.. Take home is that I do like it enough/more than looking at the chrome.

This exactly. I used Anthracite and glossifier. There isn't any other color that is closer - I have them all including the other newer gray color.
I don't think any random joe will notice Anthracite is a tad off. It's very close. IMO - 10X better than chrome.
Everyone at work thought I bought new bumpers.

PS - I've used plastidip that sprayed onto the vehicle in a thicker "more rubber" form, and found out it was because I was using an older can. I purchased newer cans, and the texture came out 10X better than my old cans. More like a spray-paint texture vs a rubber texture.

wow, that is very close. I would have suggested to go with an 'accent' color like matte black if you couldn't find something close enough, but that actually looks great.

Thanks - yep, like I said most people would never notice. It's kind of like everyone ordering the color-matched grills. The color is never "exact" but it's close enough that usually only the owner can tell. I'd say same with this plastidip color.

It also works on Lexus Nebula Gray lol

Looks good! Wish they made something close to match the cement color. I can’t bring myself to spend $500+ on painted plastic.

The gunmetal color doesn't match? I have gunmetal and never used it because it wasn't gun metal, it was like a cement color LOL.

What about using the plasti-dip as a base coat and then using the duplicolor MGM match as a lighter overcoat before adding the glossifier?

Could you do a primer, then plastidip, then a light duplicolor, glossifier?

I used the duplicolor on fender flares and the color is a near perfect match. You can’t tell the difference in the sunlight at all. The only problem is on large pieces you get uneven coatings. Even with multiple light coats. Unless you are really good with a rattle can. If you do smaller parts like mirror caps or handles it would be perfect.

I never thought about that color since it was supposed to be gunmetal.. you’re right though it does look like cement. Thanks!

It won’t peel off like plastidip is supposed to - FYI.

Have you tried it? It doesn’t have good reviews.
Just read up on it - superwrap came from Autodip which didn’t have good reviews at all. Supposedly they changed the formula, but even after the change Superwrap still hasn’t taken off or been a better competitor to Plastidip for DIY enthusiasts.

PD anthracite and the glossifier makes a darn close match to MGM. I did my bumper ends yesterday and I am very pleased. Thank you for your descriptive post. 25F75FFF-A887-4383-AC03-923A43778E11.jpg

It is pretty darn close. I've had it a few weeks now and no one has noticed the difference in shade.
