I have a Truxedo lo pro qt and was wondering if it's better to keep it closed or roll it up when I'm not using it. Thanks in advance.

Closed! With it closed you will get a small increase in mpg and horsepower! Not as much as if your truck was Super White but still any little bit helps.

See Info Page DeChroming... in progress.
MythBusters did an episode on this. Leaving it open increases mpg. The air creates a pocket with the tailgate up an no cover that the air passing over the top of the truck “slides” over (don’t know the technical term). Also “golf ball” dimples all over your vehicle increases mpg (same episode).

Basically beat the shit out of the body with a ballpeen, or leave it out in a hailstorm and no tonneau cover = best mpg.

    I’m not doing either.

After more research I made edits below...

I was mistaken, leaving the tailgate up increases MPG. Tailgate down decreases MPG. Tonneau cover closed increases MPG. Tonneau cover open decreases MPG. I was getting my tailgate and tonneau cover facts mixed up. Golfball dimples still stand. So, for clarification... in order (worst MPG to best MPG)

    No tonneau cover, tailgate open
No tonneau cover, tailgate closed = Tonneau cover open, tailgate closed
    Tonneau cover closed, tailgate closed.

Tonneau cover closed, tailgate closed, ballpeen hammer job on the body.
