Bought tow mirrors for my 2015 platinum Tundra from Trail Ridge through 1A auto.
The install was easy. Only problem is the running lights and blind spot monitoring do not work. Although the turn signal led works. I talked to 1A auto and they gave me a lame excuse that since my Tundra has power folding mirrors and the tow mirrors are not “power folding” that is the reason my running lights and blind spot monitoring light dosnt work! I cant tell if the heated mirrors actually heat until it gets into winter. Anyone else come across this weird situation??

Ok. FYI, i also asked my local Toyota parts department if the Toyota OEM tow mirrors come with the blind spot monitoring and they said no.

The running lights will not work on the tow mirrors if you have a Platinum without running additional wires. Also, it may seem like a dumb question but I have to ask - does your Tundra have blind spot monitoring? The mirrors alone will not add this functionality. To test the heat just turn the switch on, wait a minute and put your hand on the mirror. You'll be able to feel the heat.

Welcome Rob. I think I've read a post on here about re-pinning the connector to get the BSM to work? Do you notice any vibration of the mirrors when driving?

after the install did you get a BSM error message on your dash? I really like those mirrors and need tow mirrors, I have heat and BSM but not powered and would welcome the additional LED lights.

I did not get that error, and when i pushed the BSM button on the dash, it beeped and green light came on like business as usual. Thats why i’m so frustrated with this. I am keeping them since i only tow my travel trailer maybe once a month. Its an easy 20 minute swap out.

I have the same mirrors but power folding and no BSM. I like them however I've had to have them replaced under warranty 3 different times for 3 different reasons over the last 1.5 years.

Can you elaborate on the 3 reasons you returned them?
My attitude now is that the mirrors work for the main reason i got them,
to see behind a 8’ wide trailer. And back it into camp sites. The bells and whistles, while nice, are just that.
I even tried the cheap clip on mirrors which cost $45 so i can keep my stock mirrors with BSM but they vibrated and the actual viewing area was so small. Some one commented that when you are pulling a 26’ trailer, you dont really have the problem of that blind spot anyway. That is true!

First time at install, passenger side had faulty wiring from the factory, second time the passenger side developed lots of play in the folding arm and it would move while driving down the road - just enough to catch out of the corner of the eye and was annoying, third time the power fold stopped working occasionally and would only fold/un-fold half way. Warranty return process has been quick and easy though.

I personally would have bought OEM mirrors if I didn't want to keep the power fold feature. OEM power fold tow mirrors are $800 and I wasn't willing to shell out that much.

I just purchased the same mirrors for my 17 platinum. The lower set of leds on the side of the mirrors typically used as running lights is what is lighting up for my bsm lol.. I need to get a pinout of my truck wiring so i can change the wiring inside of the mirror itself before color matching.
