I own a Teknetics Gamma 5000, Bounty Hunter Quick Silver, Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro, and a Fisher F22. Just bought Manny the BH Jr. Never too young to start. Got to keep him away from video games as long as remotely possible...there is a real world out there...with cool things to do!

Went back up to "The Mine" north of Dakota Hill for some more metal detecting time. Found several more square nails and three very old hand made "flat" nails at 10". Deeper=older.

Back from off the grid....Took grandson to my property for the first time. Went quite well. Went to Great Sand Dunes Nat Park. Day fee was $3 last time I went. Sometimes you would get waved in off season. Now $20 for a 7 day pass. I'm like "what? I'm only here for today. " Ranger said if your are 62 + she'd sell me the $20 Senior Annual Pass for "all" National Parks. Showed her my ID. Got the pass. I like easy decisions. Found another arrowhead on my property. Unusual color. Most I find are obsidian or dark flint. By the way, if you think you have seen tall sand dunes, you had better check out the Great Sand Dunes..Largest in North America. By far...

Also went into Alamosa to check out the annual Early Iron Car Show. Best one in Colorado. Hot Rodding is big in Alamosa and apparently New Mexico. Lots of rides with NM plates. I really like Alamosa.

Got back from my local Grease Monkey. Mobil 1...another great oil change experience with them. Didn't spill any oil on the RCI skid. Watched them actually check all the fluid levels in the front and rear diffs and transfer case. Checked everything under the hood. Vacuumed the interior. Told them they didn't need to clean windows but they did anyways. The owner has his crew trained well for what they do. $65.
Decided it was time to service my K&N drop in with 45K on it and 4yrs 5 months. K&N drop in plus recharge kit.....$73. If I went with Purolator One filter change out every year......$22 X 4=$88. My K&N has paid for itself. I still have enough recharge for at least 2 more cleanings @ every 50K. I quite frankly can't understand how anyone could over oil the filter. A very simple process. SIMPLE.Use the cleaner...spray off.....dry......spray on oil about 3" from filter pleats. Apply a "lite" coating on all filter pleats. I also apply a lite coat of oil on both upper and lower filter seals to provide a better seal when closing the cover. It's so fracking easy. By the way, my 11 year old MAF is still clean as a whistle including the throttle body butterfly. Pure hogwash that properly oiled filters can foul a MAF...emphasis on "properly oiled". You don't apply filter oil like applying ketchup on french fries. Still having zero issues after 47 years of using K&Ns.

Actually there are a lot of old "square" nails to be found at most old mining sites. The "flat" nails are usually pretty hard to find.

No you silly willy! But the 4 years I was in Norway were some of my fondest memories! The country is amazing and if there where any other country I had to live it would be my first choice, fishing, hunting, hiking and so much more plus the added fact I love the cold! Why I ended up in Texas was my last choice but here I am 38 years now!

As for US, my dream state is Alaska!

A coworker that recently retired was from Norway. She used to bring in some olde country Norse food her mother made during the holidays. Yummy.

Got my first one when I was 10. My youngest brother is still using it. Had to replace element and power cord. It's over 50 years old. My "new" one is 12 years old. The simpler the better.
