I was installing a Tekonsha P3 brake controller on my 2015 Tundra SR5 (but found the harness is wrong now looking for the right one) and noticed an extra harness (black one). What is it it for and where can I get the device to hook it up?

I have the same plug, don't know what it's for. I'm watching this, so I guess we'll both find out together.

I think that's the plug for the parking sensor on/ off switch.

I don't have that new of a tundra. Is the pics of anywhere near the glove box? That plug was used for a glove box light in older Toyota trucks.

I thought the brake controller harness was in the driver footwell under the side cover near the dead pedal? Did it move?

I have a 2015 SR5 Crewmax. The Tekonsha is hooked up via a harness plugged into the brake controller behind the panel located to the right of the steering column.

I just can't figure out what the hell that plug is for.

Because it's in the panel wiring, I'm guessing it's for tilting headlights (top right).

As for the correct P3 harness, this is what it looks like, I have one.

This is the other side of the steering column. Where the tow haul button is. I think my truck has the nannies button and parking sensor button there

You're right, I'm looking at the wrong side as those were the first 3 switches I thought of. Upon closer inspection at OP's pic, they are all the same size switches which is the right side and I'm missing the first one. If that's a parking sensor switch, bingo!

Anything but OEM seems to be preferred
