I wanted to start a thread to cover the Cali Raised Vehicle Switching System. The primary purpose is to document the install process in our TUNDRAS, but also to provide a resource to answer any questions about use etc.

    Cali Raised Vehicle Switching System

First off, here is a copy of the instructions that came with the unit:

Here is what comes in the box:

And a shot of where he installed the power unit under the hood:

    And mounting the switch-plate:

Ok... So here are some questions I have to help guide me on my install.

So here is my first question. In the install notes, it states to connect the Ground, Ignition Input and Lights Input... And then later to connect the thick gauge Power wire directly to the battery. The Ground is obviously the Ground for the switch power. What about the Ignition and Lights inputs? I would assume the thick gauge is what provides power to the accessories, Ignition input is to power the Switch functionality and the Lights input is what provides the back lighting on the switch-face?

If anyone else has installed a Cali Raised Switching System in their Tundra, please feel free to post pics of your install and explain how/why they installed the way they did, how it has been performing, and what you are powering with it!!

@DividedSky do you know if the switch itself will fit in the card slot?

I did a test fit and determined that is "kinda" does... I'm not gonna put it there though (most likely) I'll take a pic to show better, but as I recall, it fits but the tabs dont. In other words, I think you would have to cut out the whole card slot and mount flush with the rest of that piece. Though you would probably have some gaps on the edges...

    Ditto.... @GiantsFanDan ?
    ;)

Now that I've looked at the wire schematics in more detail, I have more questions. Would also love it if Jake ( @CaliRaised ) would chime in.
I still want to know what each wire does...
    I assume that:
#3 - White - Lights or Illumination = what controls the back lighting on the switch face
#4 - Yellow - Ignition = makes it so that accessories can only be powered when the ignition power is on? (I believe that GFD wired this to battery so he could keep things powered when vehicle is OFF)
#13 - Red - Power = This is what is supposed to allow power to accessories when ignition is off?

GFDan didn't tell/show how he connected this one (#13 - Red). Also, I haven't seen any instructions on how to choose which accessories are powered by Ignition (vehicle on) and which are powered by Battery (Vehicle off). Maybe there is no choice... I dunno. I thought the CaliRaised site said we could choose, but I dont see that on the site any more. Maybe we can't? Not a big deal if we can't IMO. Just want to know what each wire does... If you can't choose, then maybe one of those two wires doesn't do anything... Again, I just don't know.

Also, I FULLY ACCEPT that this is still sort of a Beta product and things might still be getting worked out. And that they are a bit lacking in instructions...
Any help you can provide would be appreciated Jake. Still think this has the potential to be a GREAT product!!

That "@" function is great.... Can you get the user# for Cali and tag him? I'm not exactly sure how it is done...

Red Wire (small): Use red fuse tap for 12v went to an empty fuse spot in the main fuse box (I want power anytime). If you don't do that, then you need to break out your volt meter to test what empty fuse spot doesn't have power when the truck is off.

Black: Ground can go to any ground on the truck.

Yellow: Ignition wire went to my 2018 LED headlight harness that has a fuse tap already. Did this because the DRL's only come on when the ignition is on. (this wire seems redundant to me)

White: Light wire goes to your parking light wire. Use the small bulb wire for your side amber marker light from your headlight.

I called and talked to Caliraisedled after installing. You have zero function as for programing. The middle hidden button on the switch pad does nothing.

Each time you turn you headlights on to off, it will dim the switch pad green lights.

Same here. Wish it used the white wire to detect parking lights are on, it must be dark so lets dim the switch pad.

That's a great idea. Push the button on and off a few times to dim the lights.

Thanks for clarifying Dan!! I finally think I have enough info to tackle this project.
Although I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go. ;)

    Dan,
I tested a bunch of the empty fuse slots w/ my volt meter and wasn't able to get a good reading. Which empty slot did you use for "anytime" power?
    (see fuse diagram below)

In the bottom right corner of the pic. there's are 4 empty spots, try the open slot that's to the right of the one that says IGN.

Here you go. It's the last one on the right of the 4 blanks (orange fuse). The red one is my 2018 headlights LED DRL.
