Hey fellas I’m all new to this site. I’m in some need of some help/suggestions. As anyone who is a 1st generation Toyota owner knows their window moulding is probably starting to peel/crack and fall off. How much should I spend on replacing the moulding?

Welcome. If the felt is shot and you need to replace 'em, you might check with @Roman. If the felt is OK I'd rattle can 'em.

Take those part #'s and punch them in on Amazon. You will be pleasantly surprised....I recently replaced all mine on my 07 2nd gen. Prices were great compared to my local dealer...and they were OEM parts...I have Prime so free shipping too.

Thank you guys. I will look at plastic dipping in on YouTube. Also I will be checking Amazon as well since I too have Prime. I appreciate all of your responses.

First tape off everything, then I’d sand off the loose material. Alcohol/Acetone wipe the sanded area. Spray truck bed liner from big box on as first and second coats($8 can). Then, finish the third coat with matte black Rustoleum. Butter results.

Like others said if felt is bad then you gotta do the replace route for $500!

I used PlastiDip on my Tacoma. It was easy and I got several years out of it for a $6 can.

The only thing with PlastiDip to keep in mind: One of the things that make it a good option for spraying badges, is that it does not bridge the gap between the badge and the truck, so it is easy to peel the overspray around the badge without peeling the dip off the badge. This same property makes it bad for spraying a cracked or peeling part such as the window strip. The dip will not fill in gaps and cracks. I sprayed a first coat and used my finger to work it into the small cracks, then sprayed the rest of the coats over that.
