Possibly replacing tundra. Want 4wd. I’m not a rock crawler and hardly a weekend warrior, but want the capability for yearly trips. DD otherwise.

If not keep, 4Runner will be what I choose. I just don’t know the reliability of the newer jeeps.

Former. Kept it for about 6 months, just wasn't practical for me at the time. Traded it in out of state... for $800 more than I paid for it.
My '10 Wrangler Sport was $21,250 OTD new. Jeep wants nearly 28k for that same jeep, '18, plus TTL today.

I would look into the JL’s then. If you do go JK, need to be newer than 14’.

If you can rent a Jeep for a week, this is money well spent. See if you can do the “Jeep thing” every day. Let your family get in on the “fun”.

Seriously look at the new JL body style. Resale is so damn high on Jeep Wranglers, its one of those trucks that makes more sense to buy new. I've heard the new JL, at least in 4 door hardtop form, is WAY more civilized, better ride, very quiet inside compared to the previous gen trucks. That type of stuff matters IMO if all you are going to do is drive it on the pavement.

If you are looking at a 4Runner, go look at a Grand Cherokee. They have the 4Runner beat in terms of interior appointments and you can get one with several V8 options, something I really wish they'd do on the 4Runner.

If you do, get the life time warranty for the 2200 bucks. You will need it.
