I'm about to purchase a @KB Voodoo bedrack system. With an XL RTT and accessories, I'll push the weight limits for offroad use (it's the truck bedsides I'm worried about; I know the rack is strong!). So, my question:

Which attachment option will best support the weight of the rack and equipment, while stressing the bedsides least:

    1. installing Toyota bed rails so I can attach to the kb voodoo rack to that?

    OR

    2. using the no clips attachment option offered (does not require Toyota bed rails)?

I plan to install the SDHQ bed support system too, but I want to really overbuild where I can (I LOVE my truck... and probably can't replace it in this color, if I mess it up.) Thanks!

Haha! There is ^ that.

I was hoping someone'd come in here that could show me pics of their attachments inside the lip of the truck bedsides so I can see. Applying the two rules here (YOLO + YMOGOTTC), I'd install the bedrails if there's a benefit (kinda seems like doing that would tie it all together, the rack and bedrails drawn together would offset any outward stress on the bedsides-?)

    * you might only get one truck this colour

Flare in the dark: @jberry813 did you have this rack on your Taco? In your opinion, is there any benefit to attaching to bed rails vs. attaching with the clips that don't require a bed rail?

You can look at my Voo Doo rack this weekend in Big Bear. Mine is mounted to the rails.

Great, thanks! I forgot you had this rack. :kona: It'll be good to see you (and your awesome truck) again!

Also, I found a pic showing the attachment to a bed rails that @itsdchz posted. Not a close-up but I get it.
    IMG_4939.jpg

Still would love to see a photo showing connection using the clips that don't need bedrails. Anyone?

I have the original @Relentless prototype for the tundra. Its modular so I also bought the smaller cross bars so the rack works on my Tacoma as well. The feet of the rack rests on the bedsides and tied to the the bed rail system. I personally am not a fan of bed racks that rely on just the rails without supports on the bedsides themselves. But I'm also borderline retarded and drive like an asshole.
