Front end issues

i have a 06 2wd and I’m having a popping noise in my front end while driving. It pops when I accelerate from being stopped and also when I make turns. I’ve had the lower ball joints replaced due to a recall and have had the lower control arms replaced also and the popping noise is still happening. Has anyone else encountered this problem, if so can you help me out so I’m not spending a ton of money chasing the problem. Thanks

 

Welcome. Sorry I can't help with your question. Have you checked the swaybar?

 

Worn shock bushings?
Sway bar/Links?
Failed CV axle or ball joints (lifted generally accelerates wear)?
Tie rod ends?
Upper control arm bushings?
Frame/body bushings/bolts
Lug nuts tight?

 

I have not checked the sway bar yet. I did take it to my local Toyota dealer and they told me it was the lower control arms. I used my local garage to replace them for $600 since the dealer wanted $1600 to replace them. That wasn’t the problem so that’s why I reached out to see if anyone else has had this problem. I appreciate yalls help and will go from here on trying to figure out what the issue is. Btw the truck is all stock, never done any mods to it since I bought it new.

 

Understandable.. it’s tough to diagnose as any othe above listed issues will cause the symptoms. You have to physically inspect each item to find the discrepancy. Since the approach is to simply replace and move on (granted it’s the mechanics choice not yours) it will prove costly.
I guess the only positive is you’ll have a new front end.

 

Try spraying lithium grease or something similar on different joints, bushings etc. until the squeak goes away.

 

I appreciate all the helps guys. As soon as I figure out what’s making the popping noise in the front end I’ll post on here so maybe it will help someone else. Yes, maybe after it’s all said and done, I will have a rebuilt front end.

Disconnect the sway bars and take it for a test drive to see if it goes away.
