I just bought the "big" WSM on Thursday. I'm gathering up everything I need to smoke something tomorrow.

Any idea what would be the most fool-proof for a first time smoker?

Ribs if you use the 3-2-1 method and the minon method for lighting the coals. Use ony the blue bag kingsford and wood chunks for smoke flavor. Go to youtube and search for WSM tons of videos.
Pork butt would also be a east one

Bought 2 bags of the original blue Kingsford yesterday and some hickory chunks.
I'm thinking spare ribs will be my inaugural smoke with this bad boy. (bought it barely used so it's already seasoned)
I've been watching YouTube videos for the last 2 days. I think I'm ready.

    Thanks!

The WSM is pretty much set it and forget it. Relax and have fun with it
