Tundra want start

06 Toyota Tundra 4.7. Went to crank and clicked like it was the solenoid. Tried jumping it off nothing. Changed out the starter (WOW) got all back together and it clicks like before. ??? Take battery to have tested they said dead cell. New battery in place. And turn on ignition switch clicks once and lights flicker then lose power. After about 15 sec power comes back.

So.. Did it finally crank?

Battery test/replacement
Crank bolt test
Starter test/replacement

You did jump the starter hot to batt right?

Relay? Trans POS. Sensor?

 

No it hasn't. And no I didn't.

 

Have you looked at the MAF sensor? That can cause issues with starting also.

 

Ok. Fair enough.. Sorry this happened to you. We've all been there and it sucks..

I know he goes off in a different direction, but the initial survey and troubleshooting is sound.

Anti theft?
Battery cables?
Crank in neutral?

 

Code came up C1241
Low battery positive voltage or abnormally high battery positive voltage.

 

C1241 TOYOTA - Low Battery Positive Voltage...Possible causes; Low Battery Charge, Faulty Battery, Faulty Charging System, Power source circuit...Possible symptoms, Engine Light ON, (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) ABS Warning Light ON..

 

Make sure starter and battery connections are clean and tight.

 

Check you ground wire

 

Starter

 

You can get the starter tested as well. Surprise they didn't do that when they tested the battery.
