Got a reminder last night that even those out having fun can end up in tragedy from a simple mistake. Cory Bitner was killed in a roll over while out wheeling at Moon Rocks about two weeks ago. His wife has started a campaign to try to eliminate this mistake which also claimed another young life near Ellis Creek on the Rubicon Trail this past weekend. She is distributing stickers which hopefully will make a difference...the sticker says it all...the simple act of "Buckle Up" would have prevented these tragedies.

Where do I get a sticker? Sorry to hear about Cory Bitner. I did not know him. My condolences to his family. I was wearing seat belts before you had to. Common sense. Better safe than "uncomfortable". So many folks lose their lives because they didn't buckle up. Maybe Tundras.com could be a good place to distribute these stickers to start with. Sometimes a very tragic incident can become a positive. More awareness is needed for sure.:amen:

His wife came to our club meeting and handed them out. They are also being passed out on the Rubicon Trail and will be in the goodie bags for the Rubicon Toyota Event. Not sure if they have a page on Facebook or such...if I hear anything I'll post it up.

Total tragedy that can be avoided. We don't off-road with anyone that doesn't meet our minimum safety requirements.
