In the $1000 price range the FBG are the best performance and value, imo.

I had FBG fronts and they felt great. I ran a 700lb spring - I would recommend 650 unless you're loading up your front end with an aftermarket bumper or similar. All of the options you listed should be pretty great though.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I’ve never lifted any truck before so it’s hard for me to even judge an entry level setup. I want whatever I get to be far better than stock. I mean if I could I’d do a full long travel tube chassis but wouldn’t we all haha. I’m just a noob and want to not regret my choice one bit.

Ok so did a bit more research. Reached out to some local shops around home here in Canada. There is no way I can afford anything major. With the Canadian dollar so low it’ll cost me my right nut for anything with external bypasses. Plus now that I know how much I would have to spend, I have re-evaluated putting $5-6k worth of suspension on a ten year old truck with 280000 miles on it. This leaves me with Old Man Emu. Which honestly was my first plan way back before I joined the site and got all horny over the fancy setups.
Thanks to everyone for the advice. After rethinking my strategy here’s my absolute needs in a suspension:

Lift: I want to stuff 35s on the truck for trail clearance.
Flex: I want to be able to flex the truck over rocks n what not, I will do a sway bar delete in the future. This also will be addressed with uca’s at some point.

Due to the price of kits in Canadia I’m hoping to do this OME 2.5” lift without UCA’s off the bat. Is this safe?

Also at 2.5” is it smart to install a diff drop bracket?

Thanks everyone for their input. I’ve learned a lot so far.:hattip:

Stock setup rides like a Cadillac imo. I’m sure any good coilovers set rides about the same. But absolutely notice a huge difference with these on road and off

I order this same coilover. I got a couple questions. Did you end up adjusting them ? If not then how much lift did they give you at stock setting ?

I did adjust them, for every inch the compression collar moves down it’s a 1/2” of lift. But keep it mind the more you compress the shock you lose down travel. Being the 0-3” Fox is longer At zero compression you won’t need to add as much or any preload to achieve lift your looking for. Passenger side I went .250” and driver I went 1.250”. Being I had a 1/2” Toyota lean for correction.

They come out of the box at 1 inch of compression, I adjusted to .250 pass and 1.250” at driver.

I like this idea... I have a stock 2017 TRD. Do you think I could use the existing Bilstein shocks with the
ARB OME 2.33″ Front Lift 740lb. Coils? I want to level her out ...

Congrats. You will like this set-up.

I considered adjustable coilovers also, but with winter chemicals they use around here, nothing is safe. I would be hurting, I thought, if one of these expensive coilovers get rusted. With OME set-up, you could get new shocks with less $$ than you would have to pay for rebuilding these shocks. Of course, you could rebuild them yourself, but I knew my limits.

You are correct. Their coils are 740. Shortest one is 612. Medium length (which I have) is 614. The longest one (for heavy bumper application) is 613.

Unfortunately, you can't use other set-up with OME coils.

I do love it! I’ve been into some pretty rough off-roading this summer since the lift. Just love it. Totally new truck. I took my front sway bar out for flex as well. I have the arb bumper so I went with 613 springs. Was pretty stiff at first but now that I broke it in I like it a lot.
