What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

637 688 or Trident class ??..A million years ago I was attached to the submarine base dive locker pearl harbor spent hundreds of hours in on under and around the fast attacks. Can check fore an aft tags in my sleep

 

Did a little electrical work to set up for some upcoming lighting additions. I mounted a Blue Sea battery terminal fuse block (and ground bar) under the hood

Prevents having to run multiple power wires from the battery to the rear. Under the hood, I now have an easy fused power source for a couple of lighting additions up there. Blue Sea Systems are awesome marine grade stuff.

This is my 5th Tundra in the last 8 years, and my favorite so far, with the '16 Pro in MGM a close second.

 

Had Katzkin installed. Did factory match vs custom.

 

She's a beauty, but I gotta ask. Are you referring to the truck, or doing something with the Mrs?

 

Installed my Go Rhino GB20 running boards and swapped out my tires and wheels for SCS Ray10s ( @SCSPerformance) and Nitto Ridge Grapplers! My @dirtydeeds exhaust comes Friday!

 

So I did the DIY pop n lock today, worked great, and I tested and re-tested it, watching it move the actuator back and forth. Then I buttoned everything up, and closed the tailgate. Tested it one more time and could not open the tailgate. I realized then that I had forgot to put the arms back in the clips. Had to take it all back apart and clip them in. Worked great after that. $28 in total and about 2 hours.

 

where did you order the letters from? are the gloss or flat and the cost please

Looks awesome! What size tires and lift do you have? Any issues rubbing?

 

Thanks! The tires are 275/70/18 on stock suspension (Bilstein shocks that come with the TRD Sport). No rubbing that I noticed but it's pretty close in the front by the front mudflaps.

 

Wasn't technically today, but I wasn't able to take some pics until today. New tires, 295/70 on stock TRD O/R powder coated black.

 

Purchased mine from 1Aauto.com. They are Toyota OEM.

 

You can also get the emblem as well as the overlay blacked out for your emblems here...took me a while to find this..

 

Worked on deleting chrome and installing 2019 pro fog lights

 

Finally manned up and took on replacing the center non-black surround. After having the black replacement for nearly 3 months, I thought it was time. I was amazed that it only took just over an hour, from start to finish. Way easier than I expected. I’ll post daylight pics tomorrow. But here are the cringe pics:

 

Added some @Baja Designs flush mount squadrons to my rear bumper, tnx Bailey. Super easy install, looks great, and performance is insane. More pics, but not great, in the thread need help vote for the light location and will update my build thread when I get better pics.

Yes sir tnx Travis, today was the day they went in. I knew where they'd go over the weekend but I got stuck having to fix a water main break that showed itself on Monday right before we left to go home for day. It took from then right into the next days start to get it fixed. That kicked my ass for that day and Tuesday so today was the 1st chance I had the time. Very easy install and throws insane amounts of light.

Nicely done taking the time to do it properly (IMHO at least). I can see why most people don't want to take that route now lol.

 

This is EXACTLY how I was feeling after seeing other member's posts. I had already had the part, and told a buddy of mine.. Forget it, I will just try to sell it.

Looks are VERY deceiving!

It looks a lot worse than I thought, and way easier than this horror of a mess.
Honestly, it is 6 total dash bolts, 4 of them unscrew. 4 radio bolts, 2 push bolts, and just pulling the sections off. thats it! Another member posted about 2 weeks ago that he did it and took him only 45 minutes. I saw that as challenge accepted. It took less than 30 minutes for tear down, and about the same for reinstall. I cleaned the parts before reinstall, this is why it took me just over 1 hour.. WAY easy. The pics create a pucker factor, but the actual job.. piece of cake.

 

Tnx Ron yeah I think it looks good in that spot and even better is I don't have to worry about causing anymore rust than what would be caused in the harsh rust environment I already live in. That's main reason I chose this location. It gives off a ton of light, a big giant real bright square directly behind the truck that actually goes about 50 yards back. Half of it super bright. I always had faith the bd squadrons being the top notch lights they are. would throw off enough to the sides. I'm sure you probably would get a little more if they went in endcaps but they're throwing more than enough out toward the sides which I got to witness this morning backing up a few times using my side views with my shade darker than factory tinted front windows up.

You are almost convincing me to do this. I almost pulled the trigger weeks ago when I worked out a deal getting the 2 black square sections with black ac vents and black middle radio console all factory parts for $100. I had the deal worked out but pussed out on it due to these pictures floating around.

 

Lol. That sentence DOES leave it up to the imagination, doesn't it? While there's certainly plenty of room in it for all kinds of bendy shenanigans, I meant the first 500 miles of typical "break-in" driving.

 

I think it was me that inspired you! You are totally right...it looks way worse than it actually is! IMHO the center piece looks way better black.
