Was thinking of picking up the Morimoto LED fogs from eBay with the 15% coupon but read some mixed things about them on here. Any input guys? Need some nice high quality fogs. I know everyone praises Baja here but according to some posts they are too bright for highway and city driving. What is everyone running? The stock halogens are trash.

Very happy with them, especially for the price. I only drive on road so I needed something that wouldn't be blinding others but also was affordable.

My 2018 headlights are more than bright enough for my lighting needs. Just wanted to have fogs that matched output color for a nicer look. I was surprised by the brightness, width, and throw of the morimotos, especially at the price point. I paid like $50 brand new but their worth it at the $130 list price. Sure the rigids and BD are superior and way brighter but I have no need for those lights at all for my use and driving

    Those are correct.
You can wait around and find them around $100-120 used or through group buys. If you go that route check tacomaworld.com. the morimoto xbs fit tacomas too.
These will be a great upgrade over halogens.
You have a 2018 but with halogen headlights and fog light?

Yes sir. Halogens for both. Already ordered the Philips LED for my headlights. This is the review someone posted on a different forum.

I have read the Phillips are about as good and safe as you can get for LEDs in stock halogen housings. Not ideal and will scatter light but better than other brands from what I've read.
I don't recommend using LED or HID in headlight or fog housings, especially fogs, because of scatter and blinding oncoming drivers.

They have been sitting on my dresser for 3 months now, still brand new in the box. I may go a different route (18 OEM LEDs). Impulse bought the Phillips because they are like 1/4 the price and many reviews claim they don't scatter. The morimotos won't scatter because they come in a led housing right?

Yes the morimotos are LED specific housings.

I'd absolutely recommend the 18 LED headlights over using the Philips bulbs.

May just fork over the $$$ and settle for OEM headlights. You think I'll have a hard time selling the Phillips? Paid under 200 for them. Still brand new.

I'm running HidExtra for fogs and Morimoto 6500k for my low beams. Kit ran me around $80

    Can you return them?
The 18 LEDs are more than worth the money. Plus you're going to start seeing some gently used sets come up here for sale for less than buying brand new. This is because toyota just released the 2019 trd pro black version

The pictures @Pudge posted seem promising for on road driving. Did you buy them for off roading? I think anything is better than stock halogens at this point.

@Pudge did you get a chance to run the Morimotos with the stock halogen headlights? I’m looking for more useful driving light output and can’t quite justify the 2018 led headlights right now so the Morimoto fogs look like a good middle ground. I’ll be only driving on roads and there will be a lot of oncoming traffic so BD, Rigid, etc. are not viable options due their beam pattern and being too bright. Rigid SAEs come to mind but they’re way more expensive.

I did not get a chance to try them, I put them in after the new headlights. I think some other guys may have had the fogs first or just run the fogs and halogen headlights
    @driverdog @COMiamiFan ? Maybe?

Do a search over on tacomaworld too. Tacos take the same morimoto xb lights and they have a lot more members there so good chance you'll find something

    See fine print
I ran them with drop in led bulbs in my stock housing. Should be in my build thread somewhere. I was happy with them. Happier with squadrons but I don’t run that with traffic. Too bright.
