I am in upstate NY and cant believe that its this hard to find someone to do a rebuild on my Icon shocks. I ordered the kits and oil and still cant find anyone close. The Icon rep said the closest is Texas. Thats a heavy bill for shipping outside of what they are going to charge for the rebuild. Ive heard around $800 on top of the shipping. Anyone know anybody closer that is reasonable. I would never buy these shocks if this was the only solution. Unfortunately that is what came on the truck and my research guesses he paid around $4500 for the kit.

Shops in CA are typically $250-300 that I’ve gotten quotes on....

Rebuild them yourself. If you're not re-valving the shocks, should be pretty straight forward.
You would need to find a shop to recharge the shocks with nitrogen tho.

Like @Shelbie67 said, the going rate for a rebuild is usually 125-150 per shock.

How many miles did it take? What signs did you notice, and do you have the 2.5, reservoir, or 3.0?

The truck at 20k on it when I bought from the second owner who only drove it 8,000 miles. The original owner had it put on from Toyota when he ordered it. So realistically they had 21,000 before they started leaking, one in the back and one in front. I guess the must of dried out from a lack of use or I just have garbage ones. They are the 2.5 versions. The front pulls to the right a little and that’s the leaking side.

    Hey Mark.

If you feel comfortable enough to remove shocks and re-install them, you can rebuild them.

I hate to say this, but all shocks wear out and will need to be replaced or rebuilt. How awesome is it that you could have the capability to just do this in the comfort of your own home, drinking adult beverages, laughing your ass off that you saved all this cash the first time rebuilding them.

First, watch this guys series on rebuilding ICON shocks.

Go to www.cyberweld.com and buy these:

    https://m.cyberweld.com/shielgascyl22.html

Then call these guys, they just flippen rock.

    https://www.schmidtyracing.com/nitrogen-tools-s/1847.htm

    Buy your seal kit:

Buy shock oil: (this is expensive, you can get other brands of oil for way cheaper....FYI) Now check to see if any specialized tools are needed. It’s nice to have aluminum shock shaft clamps for the bench vise.

You can do this. Trust me.

I am impressed that you have a 2010 with 21,000 thousand miles on it that's fantastic

that's insane for a rebuild. there's a guy here in Denver that does them for less than a third of that. He's on Tacomaworld and I got a quote from him a couple months ago. he does A LOT of rebuilds.

    here's his thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/303-shock-services.373958/
