Does anyone here have experience replacing the internal parts of this type of cover? I picked this cover up yesterday for free, the shell is in okay shape, will need to be repainted, and the internal metal frame is good but the lift arms, brackets and locking mechanism is shot.

It's made by toyota but I'm having issues trying to find the parts. I'm also not trying to spend more than it's worth so if it gets too much, itll be either free to a new home or find it's way to the dump

The fix is fairly easy, it's finding the parts. The lift assist arm for the driver side and the gas props should be readily available at any cap dealer. The handle is going to be a little harder to find but from your picture I think a Leer twist handle would work fine as a replacement. Lift assist arm, gas props, handle, rotary latches and cable are going to run around $140ish.

Just checked the struts and brackets, and it looks like they are discontinued.

I would just go to the local fiberglass shell business. The lift struts are cheap and can be matched up according to size.

The brackets, might be a little more tricky and expensive.
