JBL to Non-JBL conversion

Can The JBL system in an ‘18 CM be converted to a non JBL system by replacing the headunit and the amp with the regular non-JBL ones? Looking, it seems the JBL system has an additional multi-pin connector (total of 3 vs 2) and I’m wondering if it is just one additional, or if the other two are totally different than the non-JBL system.
