The things we do for our kids right. Now that my youngest at almost 5 is getting his time in on my now 9 yr olds raptor who started at his age and is now starting to outgrow it in a few years maybe I'll give the oldest my outlander when it time, the 5yr old can have the hand me down raptor and I'll upgrade to the Outlander 1000. That would e a perfect selfish plan, unfortunately I think my oldest should have a quad between his now and mine. Even though he respects the power of mine when I let him cruise around on it, I think in the trails it's too much for him to go from a 90 right to mine in the trails. Unfortunately there's probably like a 400 or so in his future before I can cash in on giving him mine. There's always wifey who could use 1 too in there somewhere in the plans. She loves to ride too.

Quick and cheap: $20 / 60-second upgrade for the turn signal lights. No reason other drivers shouldn’t see my signals now :)

    I used these:

Did not need a resistor / no hyper-flash

    Here is stock:

Does anyone have 3x2.5x3 flush mount LEDs in their rear bumper in this location in the top pic below? I'm trying to figure out if my soon to be delivered square flush mount 3x3 BD squadrons will fit there in the same location @stefan702 mounted his s2's which are 3x2, not sure depth? Hope u don't mind me using pic for reference. Obviously the 3 inch across is not an issue, I'm questioning if the extra 1 inch of height would be a problem with the plastic tabs behind the black plastic there?
    15342183005845558401384642572414001.jpg
Even if it's not mounted on a fellow members here truck, does anyone know for sure or ever come across a pic of anyone that has similar to squadron size lights in that location?

I'm already aware that the s2's fit there as seen in pic above. I'm also aware that the squadrons will fit in this same location to this fellow members black oaks below. Again, hope you don't mind me using pic. I think this location looks great.
    unnamed-31.jpg

I'm also curious if I'd be able to mount them in the small square section of the rear bumper between these 2 pics locations, for example moving this location a couple inches toward the license plate. I'd like to see how that would look and know if it's even possible. I noticed a black metal bracket behind this spot that makes me question if it would work?

I think my first choice would have to be in the black plastic due to the salting conditions in winter where I live. I'd like to avoid cutting into any metal if possible so that the cuts don't rust, despite my assumptions that I'd get more useable light out to the sides with them mounted more toward end caps.

If anyone knows or has any pics for reference I'd greatly appreciate it. I've looked many places and am having trouble finding anyone or any pics that can answer my above questions on mounting locations. TIA to anyone who can help.

Looks great huge difference. Would this work the same and as easy on a non led 16 Trd pro headlight? I already replaced the halogens with gtr LEDs from headlight revolution. If I could do it I'd be curious in the difference in the amber's as a daytime running light too.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
It's an active project that's been on hold for the last few months. I actually just made the decision on my switch set up last week and ordered my AOB switch...which just arrived today!
I've already prepped the black bumper piece, while I had the bumper apart when I wrapped my ends. I made some custom mounting brackets that will attach to a bolt I added. There was one small piece of the bumper ends that I had to Dremel off. But once installed, with some Loctite and lock washers, they'll be beyond secure.

As soon as the weather breaks and gives me enough time, I'll get it everything put in, run the wiring and plugged up. All the prework is done....I think. I plan on doing a write up on it all, start to finish. I took pics as I was going through the work up on the bumper and parts. Here's a few of the plastic cutting...

No, the 2016 uses a different type of bulb connector, 3157CK I think. There are several similar LED bulbs for 3157CK.

Looks great, if I went with s2's that would be the spot. I almost did get s2 pros and put there. The only problem, I didn't, I got squadron sports for about the same output as the s2 pros and almost half the price. But i do appreciate your attempt to help me out.

You don't have a pic of your cut showing the rear of black plastic do u? That might help if I can see how close your cut comes to that plastic tab back there. I'm guessing that extra inch on the squadrons might be a problem running into that tab.

I would bet you could just as easily fit them in the same place. Ultimately the mounting plates/attachment points would only vary by a 1/2" or less.
The s2's are 4X2.5. So just subtract a 1/2" from each side (in the second pic) and that's about what you would be looking like. Obviously the cutout may be a bit different.

I do too prefer the look aestically for the larger squadrons in that location. S2's I prefer in the black plastic. My only issue with the squadrons in the end caps is if I cut metal, where I live, I'm pretty sure even with painting the cut after it will eventually rust.

This pic is essentially upside down of how it sits on the truck. For a squadron, your cut out would be less to the left/right and more on the top and bottom, since the backs of the squadrons are more square than the rectangle shape of the s2's.

Yeah I'm worried about the cutout and where it would fall behind the black plastic. There's a black tab back there that I'm guessing helps keep the black plastic secured to the bumper. I'm guessing with the larger cut opening in order to fit it in that location it would run into or be extremely close to that tab back there. You remember seeing that? I'm trying to figure out in order to get a 3x3 to look good in that location the cut of the larger opening would either run into that tab or just barely clear it.

I'm talking about this tab here. I'm guessing my cut square hole would hit it in order to look good back there centered up somewhat. See what I mean? Maybe your 14 doesn't have it?

I got you. I know exactly what you're talking about...that tab is what you can see in my last pic.
You can somewhat tell by the lines on the blue tape, I basically centered the light in that particular area. I was mindful of the tab and how much of the end cap I also had to cut.
Part of what I was saying on the last post is that the Squadrons are not going to require any more of a cut-out (width wise) as the s2's do. So the fitment should still work.
With the mounting bracket set-up that I'll be using, it will actually help secure the plastic to the end cap even more.
Give me a few mins and I can do a quick drawing of the design if you want.

Yep...that's exactly the same thing. My last pic is that clip. My cut out caused me to remove about 1/4 - 1/3 of it. I also Dremeled some of the end cap off.
Essentially, using your pic the parts I cut would have been...

I would think the squadrons cutout would be the exact same width as the s2's. Just a little bigger cutout, about an inch larger up and down. Side to side width should be the same if they are both 3"wide. The s2 is 2"tall, where the squadron is 3". So your width cut and mine would be the same since they both 3", mine would have an extra 1/2" on top and bottom than yours. Your width would be the same size as mine in both width and height. Yours rectangle, mine square.

Very true...good point. I just found this pic. You can see there's plenty of the tab left. to go over the end cap.
After I cut the plastic I popped it back on the end cap the drew the cut lines lines on the little piece of the tab I needed to cut off the end cap.
So....once it's all mounted the edge of the end cap will be real close to the back of the light. And again, with the brackets I made, once everything is installed, the lights will actually help hold the black plastic in place.

EDIT** The first two pics are the light on the right hand side. The last is the left hand end-cap. You get the idea tho...

Cool tnx those pics help a lot. I'm going to have to look at the rear of the squadrons. I think they actually go on an angle in their depth. When I get them I'll take a look and if I decide to go there I'll probably PM u with more questions. Tnx for all the help so far.

You bet bro. Here's one more pic I found that's more straight on. The red lines are basically where the end-cap will sit.
I'll go out and make some pics of the lights mounted in the bumper tomorrow so you can see the actual plastic and end cap.

Yup all my concerns, plus I live in a area that's real hard on metal. If it ain't coated in a linex or something it'll rust, sh*t even with that u can still see some rust spots trying to break thru.
