So I have a 2010 Tundra Supercharged. I just replace the rear Icons because they were leaking and now the front ones are leaking. There is no one in our area who works on these and since I dont do any type of off roading, Im omly looking for a nice riding replacement. I currently have Icon 58750C on the front. Any suggestions to replace these Icons thats not going to cost $2,000 or even $500:(
Also since the current ones are coilovers and the truck is lifted do I have to buy coilovers again?

Can you remove them and ship them out for a rebuild?

Do you still have the old rear icons?

I know these aren’t the exact instructions for your shocks but the same applies. As long as you’re replacing like for like you shouldn’t even need an alignment. Just a big ass breaker bar and torque wrench. As well as some big dog sockets. Do not loosen the lower a arm cam eccentrics. It should pry apart once you loosen all the other things up. Check out some YouTube videos as well. It’s not that bad.

I haven't either, but those expensive Icons are good quality and serviceable. If you would be wasting more money to replace them, have them serviced. If you can be with out the truck for a bit leave it on blocks. You need to look into shipping each way and the rebuild fees to see which is more economical and makes more sense.

I'm surprised there is no off road shop nearby that can do this. Maybe expand your search a bit. Check with local off roading clubs, etc.

The stock front suspension came with coilovers. Most shops call them struts, at least around here. So yes, you would have to replace them with another set of coilovers. Do you still have the original stock coilovers? If so, you could get a shop to replace your Icons with those until you get the Icons fixed. The Icons are preferable since they provide improved ride performance and adjustable lift.

What size tires do you have? If they're bigger than stock, they may not fit without much rubbing with stock coilovers, though. In that case, you'd have to replace the Icons with comparably lifted (longer than stock coilovers). Probably the cheapest route is to get a set of used stock coilovers and add a spacer to them to provide the lift necessary to clear bigger tires while your Icons are getting fixed.

As for removing the Icons yourself, it's definitely doable. I just installed Bilstein 6112 coilovers in my apartment parking lot with regular hand tools. But I've had prior experience working on other vehicle suspensions in the past. If you have prior wrenching experience and the necessary tools, I say go for it. Otherwise, see if an experienced buddy can help you or take it to a reputable shop.

I don’t have any of the original parts since the original owner had everything on this truck put on by the Toyota dealer he ordered it from. My tires are 35x12.50r18 and the current front coil overs from Icon are 58750C. The entire package is the Toyota Tundra suspension system stage 5. The trucks been lifted either 2.5 or 3”. I bought Bilstein 5100 from RealTruck.com since they said they would fit not realizing they need coils and I’m still not sure how they are going to fit in the Icon housing that's connected to the upper control arm? The truck is not a daily driver so I could easily throw it on blocks and wait as long as I need to to do it correctly just not sure what to do now that I have these bilsteins 5100s Or do I just take the icons off and have them re-built somewhere in Texas or whatever place can do them since Icon has a very limited source of people who can rebuild them according to there list. Not impressed with that at all.

Where in Texas are you? There’s a small but slowly growing community of off-road racers in this state who could probably point you to someone who can rebuild them.

Im in upstate NY,, LOL I wrote TX because the Icon Rep sent me a list of 7-8 places that rebuild Icons and the closest to me in NY was TX. I found that amusing...

When my front ICONs started to leak, I sent them off for "service" to ICON themselves. Smooth $60 in shipping and almost $800 for the "service". Once they get in there, its funny how every internal part shows wear of some sort and adds to the bill. Very little off-road done with them, but they had over 80k miles. I suppose it was worth it, but it was far from a cheap service. I've since picked non-serviceable units (Bilstein 6112s), and will just replace with new if it happens again. For me, that's a hell of a lot easier than being without my vehicle for 1.5 weeks.

Edit - I just noticed you said its an Icon Stage 5 package - if I had that much invested into a suspension setup, I'd have it rebuilt in a heartbeat. That's like a $4000 suspension setup right there. Mine was a wimpy Stage 1.

Any motorcycle shop shop could rebuild them if their techs are competent - same basic principal. Ask around but may have to order the new seals from Icon and just pay for the labor. Count the number of threads showing so you get the same lift back to clear your tires and not throw your alignment off that far. You should still get alignment after too.

Yeah, but... Now you are the caretaker of that amazing setup. Do your duty. If you put 5100s in there... that's just disgusting.

I agree, I’ll find someone to repair all four of them.
