Was reading the thread about turning all nannies off so I decided to try it and Wow! Through the first half tank of gas the computer went from 11.5 mpg to 15. Hope it stays this way! And thats only driving in town back and forth to work about 10 miles per day.

Did the same yesterday with mine. Lots of fun but no gains. It dropped a little. I did do a lot of driving so maybe I should limit it to just around town.

Just ran today on highway and I never have been above 15 mpg. Today with nannies off I got 18 mpg on 4 hour round trip.

Nannies are the Auto LSD,Traction control, and Stabilitrac. To turn them off push the Stabilitrac button once to turn off Auto LSD. Then push again and hold for 3 to 4 seconds to turn off Stabilitrac. Then push and hold again for 3 to 4 seconds to turn off Traction control. Should see them light up on dash.

Well I did hit the fun button after I turned off mine so maybe that’s why my mileage didn’t increase ;)

I'm old school, so I am jaded. I hate the nannies - and I don't think that they are always providing a more "safe" situation. Great example is washboard dirt roads. I have been on washboards going through corners and wanting to power through it when I find my truck completely unresponsive because the computer thinks that it can drive better than I can. No thanks. I turn them off most of the time. As great as technology is, it just can't replace intuition in a lot of cases. That is one "tech" thing on newer vehicles that I don't like. Let me drive my own vehicle the way that I think is appropriate for the given conditions.

I didn't think it would help mpg or any significant impact either way!

You guys sure about the mpg?

Maybe it doesn't help with all trucks. But it did for mine under normal driving conditions. Went from 11.5 to 14.5 driving around town and back and forth to work. And from 14.5 to 17 on longer highway trips. But if you are a foot to the floor kind of person it probably doesn't help.

I see ... only tried nannies off for a VERY short time! Not long enough to impact the mpg. Maybe that's why!

Well said, I'm old school as well, I hate nannies too. And it's not only the washboard type roads the system will power down and brake on some of worst times like on a cloverleaf style exit/on ramps or any tight turns, it senses one wheel turn faster than the other. I want control of my vehicle when I'm merging into heavy traffic. I actually have a PAC TR12 trigger module it turns my nannies off and tow haul mod on automatically at ignition. I have an ARB locker anyways but at least shutting them off get's rid of the power down and braking situation. I like being able to make the choice when I want to lock up the rear and when I don't and the ARB gives me that. As for the MPG's I normaly completely avoid these conversation's on this forum because no one would believe me if I told them and I'm not going to debate someone about it. I am Supercharged w/BD Tune, run 93 octane, lifted, have 34" tires, 4:88 gears, run my nannies off tow haul button on and most importantly I drive like an idiot EVERY DAY meaning I have a HEAVY right foot. Guess what, I get way better MPG's that most people report on this forum. Call me crazy but I also believe the ECU in our trucks is intuitive and it learns your driving habits. My truck is my baby and those horses like to run wild, at least as wild as they can in Northern Virginia traffic lol...

Yeah I was running pretty quick on a muddy road and took a turn I knew I could take but it locked up my brakes and wouldn't give me gas. Wound up in the ditch. Super annoying!

Love it man, I am completely of the same thought process. I am looking to SC soon. How long have you had your unit?

Anyone have a way to have the screen go back to normal and stay there when the nannies are off, instead of it reverting back to saying "Traction Control Off" of whatever it says after xx seconds?

Do you have a link as to how you set up the "PAC TR12" unit? I would love to have the ability to hit a single button instead of go through a whole sequence. Appreciate it

Didn't really notice much of a difference when I tried in MPG. Definitely more fun though, but when I hit a dirt road the first thing I do is hold down that TCS button.

I just did this and threw a bunch of stuff off my passenger seat when I turned onto the road in front of work.
