Okay - I know this is done all the time and I've even removed the dealership badge already. I used fishing line on that one and it worked fine. I tried it on the "5.7 iForce" badge, but no dice. Is there a trick to it? Braided line?

yep bank account is running low from it..
Use a hair drier on the badges to heat up the sticky on the back. Get it pretty warm. Then try the fishing line and it will come off.

If that doesnt work try this alittle time it does work. Use the fishing line to make a dent in the sticky on the back. Use rubbing alcohol keep it wet. (Four hands are needed). Then use the fishing line again and the alcohol will eat the sticky tape sticky off of it.

It takes time. Have you tried a heavier fishing line? I know I went through quite a bit before it gave way...I also let it sit in the sun for a few hours prior.

Thanks for the replies. I was on the right track - but I wanted to be 100% sure before going further.

I was using 20lb mono and it would break after about 15 seconds of sawing. I'll try heating them up or letting it sit in the sun, and I'll get some heavier line.

    Thanks again!

Sheesh, broke 20lbs mono on the badges?!

random question since I'm here, my truck is 7 years old, if I debadge is it going to have fade marks were the badges used to be since the rest of the paint surely has to have faded after 7 years in the sun?

Letting it sit in the sun a few hours heats it up nicely too. Come off like a knife through butter.

It's possible, but I would still find out and do it. If it does happen to have them, just apply some double-sided tape and re-apply it back on.

How do you remove the TRD stickers on the side of the bed without using your nails?

I searched for and found this thread because I wanted to remove the TRD stickers from my 2008 Pyrite Mica Tundra. In my view, they are ugly beyond the definition of the word. I tried the fingernail and Goo Gone method, but wore myself out after 2 hours with not much result. So I found out about the paint stripe removal wheel made by 3M. (3M 03614 Adhesive Eraser Wheel). I bought a cheaper model at my local auto parts made by Astro Pneumatic Tool Co. "400F" model.

It ripped off that sticker in about 20 minutes per side to get the sticker off, followed up by using 3M Adhesive Remover on a micro fiber cloth. The wheel did NOT burn through the clear coat or mess up my paint. I also used it to remove the residual glue after I removed the Limited badge off the rear doors.

If you use this wheel, I highly recommend wearing safety glasses and a particulate dust mask.

I followed up with a good wax and I love the look!

As you can see, it makes a huge mess.
