:rofl:my back sliding door has t been clean in two years. Last time it was cleaned the little guy ran right into it and bounced hard on the cement patio. Afraid the animals will do the same thing

Handsome male you have there. Not sure what Sir Blackie is thinking during this photo, but it may or may not caused a shiver down my spine. :)

Wow that is cool. And very scary. I assume that thing could destroy pretty much anything it encountered?

The Mountain Lion is often referred to as N America’s most efficient hunter and at top of the food chain. Amazing animals....at a distance. I read someplace they can jump around 14’ high and at a distance of 40’.

I try and keep the deer away from our property. With deer comes the cats. When we were between homes, our rental was in a place that the deer where everywhere. This always concerned me.

Heres a feral kitten that's been hanging around, I set out some food every now and then for it, a gf named it Ichabod, LOL. It bolts when it sees me back into the woods behind the house.
It has a bob tail, makes me wonder if it is part bobcat.

Is it a picture you took? Cats scare me...I have only had one encounter in the wild...it was knarly.

I was walking a saddle back up the ridge to get to my truck after bow hunting. I should have read the clues better in hind site. I had two does walking to me. Perfect set up. Except they got about 100 yards from me and got antsy. Kept going in circles...then bolted. Well last day, guess I wasn't gonna get anything and headed up. Picked up a little six point elk she'd on my way up. Thought not all was lost, the shed was perfect with now chew marks. About a hundred yards up where the deer freaked out is where it happened. Didn't see it til it was hissing and screaming at me. Fifteen yards away all I could see was tip of the tail flicking low to the ground and it's face up to the cheeks, couldn't even see it's ears. Big nasty Bush was concealing him. All I had was my bow, my knife, and now this elk shed. I slowly placed my bow on it's sling and slid over my shoulder. I grab that elk shed with both hands and walked that mountain backwards. With six points I figured it was my best defense. I wasn't going to knoc an arrow as I couldn't see the body, no tag, and if I missed if it charged I was fucked.

That was the last time I went bow hunting by myself. At the time it was illegal to carry a firearm while bow hunting. I have picked up bow hunting again now that we can carry while hunting, it just can't be used except self defense.

Damn things are so stealthy and freakishly strong. Wish we could still use dogs to hunt them.

No I didn’t. That was a picture contest winner. So pretty much they knew this big ol’ boy was on the property all the time.

Now that would have been scary.

Hunting season 09 we were backtracking in snow up to my knees (so 4-6” of snow...lol. Actually 18-20”) and we kept seeing a snake like pattern in the snow. We looked closer and sure as stink on shit, it was a cat paw print. This Mountain Lion was tracking us for about 1/4 mile. Weird thing was on the way out, I had the feeling like something was following us. I looked several times behind me, but never seen anything.

That hunting trip was messed up anyway. All our diesels were broke down, I had to tow all our stuff out with a 2000 Tacoma, snowed like crazy and we were in an attic tent, we ran into 4 bull moose several times, way more closer than I would have liked. My .300 Win Mag was loaded 24/7 on that trip.

I have two little ladies, Codi and Mauser. Codi, the black longhair, is 7. She was the first animal I adopted on my own so naturally she's my baby. Maui, the toasted marshmallow, is almost 3. Both of them fetch when they feel like it, and Maui makes dilophosaurus noises. 1.jpg 2.jpg

    Thank you.

That would be awesome but I'm pretty sure he's a goner. We see the coyotes occasionally with prey in their mouths. Usually it's a cat. Probably see a "missing" dog/cat sign posted in the neighborhood every other month.
