Been looking to get a Tundra for a while and i think i found a good one at a local dealership, its been maintained like crazy at this same dealership since new with all records available. Let me know what you guys think i Currently have a 2006 honda Ridgeline with 220k miles that i have no issues at all since new.

I know it has the k&n CAI and some custom dual cat back set up. I test drove it and drove great.
Here is a link to the truck.

Seems to be a fair price. Pretty clean Tundra. Take a good look at it. Especially underneath for any rust issues, leaks,etc..

Wikipedia has information on all recalls and most problems, listed by year. Do a google search for “Tundra 20Xx problems”
Good luck! Odds are with you that this is a good deal.

I guess that's good it has extensive records, but do some of those mileage/date intervals seem kind of close together on the Carfax? I wonder if there was something going on that isn't apparent in the Carfax details.

Dang January this year. I’d be extra particular with it if I knew that but it is a brand new frame. Check out the install and the way it drives

So the frame replacement would be an upside to this truck if it was done correctly?

I suppose it's better compared to it having a rusted frame, but I wouldn't really call it an "upside". Seems like ideally you'd want something with an original frame in good shape. That's a lot of stuff coming off to replace a frame.

I was thinking priced kind of high, but a NADA check shows price in the right area. Kudos for Toyota, That is a lot of value for an 11 year old truck.

New frame can't be a bad thing unless maybe replaced from accident.

The wheels look to be painted, maybe plasti dipped, possibly powder coated (P.C. being the best). The badges or emblems are plasti dipped and starting to peel off. The tires are a bit of an unknown, to me anyway.

Ask dealer for a warranty and some new tires to sweeten the deal.

I personally wouldn't buy it. There will always be another truck that comes along that checks every box for you. I bought my current truck new, but I spent a good 3-4 months looking for the last used truck I bought. I've also found dealers will play dumb and try to hide issues on used vehicles so I always purchased used cars from private parties. Of course they can hide stuff too but I feel like you can feel them out better, especially if they're the original owner.

I don't want to tell you not to buy it but I personally would rather wait for one that hasn't had something major like that done to it. Good luck!

Yes i was surprised how well it held its value as i researched that price as well, it does have alot of accessories on it as well and i definitely will ask for some sort of warranty and new tires as they are unknown brand.

Thanks for the advise i am definitely on the fence right now, maybe ill go in to the dealership and use that fact of frame replacement against them because they did not disclose it to me when i test drove the truck on saturday and maybe we can work out a better deal which only way I would buy the truck, they were nit budging off their internet price on Saturday.

I would be agreeing with BW a bit. Especially if this is the first Tundra looked at or early in your search. My search was 3-4 months and from an individual as well.

I’ve been researching 2007 Tundra s pricing for sale a LOT recently. I just bought a very similar 2007 Limited.
You can find other similar Tundras in that price range that haven’t had major work done. These guys are not being upfront with the facts about this car.
FYI, I paid $24K for a near pristine 2007 dc Limited 4x4 with only 34,500 miles. $24K was considered top end of kbb pricing, but with 34,500 miles, I bought it, private party. Good luck in finding the perfect Tundra.

truck looks like it did 1/4 mile for pink slips or floored it everytime the light turned green - I usually stay away from these kinda setups.

Maybe previous owner did but as long as it was properly maintained im ok with it. If i end up getting it first thing would go is the spoiler coming off, otherwise im good with everything else.

Was that a silver truck out of Cookeville TN??? When I was looking a few months ago, there was a truck up there that almost exactly matched that description. Price was more than I wanted to spend and I really wanted a double cab with the bigger bed so I passed on it.

As to the OP, congrats on your truck. I ended up with a 2011 4wd Tundra double cab, 56k miles, southern truck, zero rust, 1 owner, very clean 4.6 V8, $20,500 out the door. Bit more money, not as well equipped as yours, but I wasn't as picky on configuration as I was condition/miles and getting a good deal.

    You can't be serious here.
Wow. That's funny. Like 99% of people say the exact opposite. "I don't want to deal with some lying private owner. I want to do things properly at a dealership."
    Wow...

No way I'm reading this correctly o_O

The plastidip and woodgrain trim gave it away, huh?

How did the negotiations go? Final price?

    "It has a new frame!"
    Sir...that was literally a $15k repair on Toyota's dime...
    "It's not original!"
    ....what...?

Got the truck for $17.5k out the door. The fake wood grain stickers were the first things to go then out went the spoiler and bull bar.
Will be debadging all black emblems as well.
Also thinking about taking out the racing stripes and loosing the 5HP it gives the truck ha.

I saw the invoice for the frame replacement it was over $20k because previous owner paid another $3k to replace the springs and brake lines.

After having the truck for almost 2 weeks im glad I got it. Rides smooth and sounds great, will not need to do anything to it except for the fluid changes for the next 50k miles I think.

@Emire221 I wish I saw this thread a few weeks ago, I was reading through it praying that someone didn't talk you out of buying it because of the frame replacement. I'm glad you didn't let that stop you. Looks like a clean truck and seemed like a fair price.

My '99 4runner had a frame replacement done by Toyota. When they do this, the dealer doesn't spare any expense. The techs end up replacing all clips, hardware, brackets and bushings connected to the frame since it is easier than reusing the old. That is awesome that the PO went above and beyond to have the suspension and other components replaced as well.

My clean 3rd Gen 4runner brought MORE money than any other equal 3rd Gen that was advertised within a 500 mile radius of me when I sold it 3 years ago, high miles, limited, 4x4. Because when you got underneath, it was pristine. I advertised it about $1500 higher than what I would have taken and advertised that it had a frame replacement under warranty by Toyota, at the time I was in no rush to sell. I also posted about 4 pictures of just the underside of the truck in the craigslist ad. The first person that came to look at it handed me my asking price in cash, made me wish I started off asking even more $$$. 3 years prior I bought this from a dealer that advertised it as somewhat of a negative, the sales woman went so far as to say "well it did have a frame replacement....(negative tone)", I said "oh....it was one of those...(dramatic scoff)".
