As I am going through and painting an extra set of handles to put on my truck in order to color match i had a great OCD idea. I always cuss when trying to polish under the handles...its only one screw to take the assembly out. I am so going to do this next time.

    Hey all,

Just wanted to let you all know that I have started a thread on the difference between Cquartz TiO2 and UK 3.0 under the detailing section. I know some of you have been starting to have some interest in the coatings so if you have any questions on which one is right for you feel free to ask me over there. Link

    Thanks!

What ratio of water to soap should I use for my foam cannon? If it ever stops raining I might get a chance to give my truck a wash

We recommend about an ounce to an ounce and a half of reload in the bottle, with the rest filled with water for the best results. This may differ with other soaps, but for ours, which is a concentrate, thats the best ratio.

I'm no pro - but I think it depends on the soap (how concentrated it is) and cannon brand.
I used Mr Pink and this foam cannon for my pressure washer.
I do about 20% soap (8oz or so soap with the rest of the 34oz bottle filled with WARM water), but I've only used it twice and I want to play with the soap to water ratio after I play with the airflow settings some more.

It depends on the soap. I usually use Chemical Guys Honeydew Foam (one of the very few CG products I’ve stuck with), and I believe it calls for 2 ounces, and fill the rest of the way with warm water.

On occasion I’ll use Carpro Hydrofoam, which has a 9/1 ratio if memory serves.

It should say on the bottle, but if it may not give you a foam cannon ratio if it’s not made or marketed with a cannon in mind.

    What soap are you using?

You just made me look mine up. I was thinking no way the bottle was 34 ounces, but it is. Seems smaller. Then I looked at the 30 ounce tumbler cup on my desk, and...never mind.

Then I believe it’s 2 ounces of soap, and the rest warm water. I’m going off memory though.

Remember warm water. Makes the foam work better.

looking into the same one myself...I use CG Honeydew Snow Foam and McKees Xtreme Foam.....I have very hard water, and use 1 oz of soap for 10 oz of warm water in the cannon. I have an electric power washer, and swapped out the standard 1.25mm orifice for the 1.1mm orifice, and it make a big difference in the foam I got

Anyone else use the Chemical Guys Citrus Wash? It always seems to leave a slight film behind that I can see on my truck. On my wife's white pilot, I don't care...I mean I don't see anything. I have tried rinsing the hell out of it, but still seems to leave something behind.

I’m ready for it cool off for sure. This heat has pretty much brought my detailing activities to a halt over the last couple of months. I don’t have a big enough garage to get the trucks in, so I’m limited to after 7, or before 7am.

I use the meguires 2.0 paint sealant and flex orbital buffer with lake country CC's waffle pads.the waffle pads are more forgiving on the soft paint and the (waffles) keep the pad cool.the 2.0 paint sealant has carnuba wax and polymer waxes that last a long time! I get my supplies from autogeek.net They have free shipping and discounts quite offten.just my 2 cents worth

I recently started using Adam's Tire & Rubber Cleaner with a scrub brush from the dollar store.
IMHO it works really well. After the brown is washed away and the tire dries it has a very flat/matte finish.

I've had good results using Rain‑X® X-treme Clean™ with a small 3" DA machine. Try it by hand first in a small area and check your results.
NOTE: If the glass is "stained" (and yes glass stains the same way auto paint will from bird poo) then nothing can polish it off. It's worth a try!

Have you tried Sonus Trim and Motor Kote to dress the engine bay?
I like the matte/satin look. IMHO It looks "better than showroom".

My favorite is Carpro Immolube (It's concentrated. do not use full strength) This is my clay lube go-to for Nanoskin AutoScrub Fine Grade Mitt and ultra fine clay bars.
