Anyone on here tackle a light PDR job on their own?

Just wondering if someone takes their time, has the right tools, and does this as a hobby, or in Colorado, this is a necessity.

I've done it on my (now former) BMW w/one of those crappy kits you can buy. It did a good job, but it took a long time and a lot of tries. I imagine that it would've gone much faster with better tooling and would've been much less frustrating.

Ive played around with some home made tools. My opinion based off what info is available, the lighting kit is the main tool for someone that is learning. Well, for any level of skill i guess. But i think i could of got some half decent results with a little instruction and that light.

Its really easy to end up will little high spots and not notice until you thought you were done and try to show it off till the sun catches it.

never tried it but the videos on youtube are pretty amazing. I suspect there is a measure of talent/experience required to do it right.

I have one ding in my truck, as much as I like doing this myself, I'm probably going to pay someone to fix it.

Yeah, there definitely is one of those "you either go it or you dont" type of skill sets. Atleast for the complicated repairs.

One thing that the videos dont mention often is the amount of time that they spend on some of those repairs
