OK, I don't have a boat . . . yet. But let's see yours, especially being towed by your Tundra :)

Also, if you've ever craiglisted boats in Denver, you'll find massive boats, like 30 foot and longer, where are these guys using these large boats here? I mean we don't have lakes the size of Mead, and there definitely isn't an ocean here!

2 uncle's n a friend would say, the best time of having a boat is the day you buy it and the day you sell it

I have heard that many times, but my family has had so many great memories on our boat, and it was actually a really sad day when my dad had to sell his boat. We had it for 15ish years and sold it when the economy got bad and he needed the money. He has been trying to get another one since.

Yeah my Dad had one too, 15' scooter flat bottom with a Yamaha 70 loved that thing could skim across inches of water

Got mine off Craigslist about 9 years ago. 7k. Only 102 hrs on it at the time. Ownership has been relatively cheap. 2 water pump impellers and a bellows/gimble bearing. About $800 in repairs overall. Do everything else myself. Gonna put it in the water Sunday and replace bunk boards. Should take about 20 mins.
    I say get one.

I have been lurking on the webs too for a used boat. We go up to Lake George a lot, but I also live close enough to the NJ, DE and MD waters to get some use there too. Really digging the smaller Boston Whalers. Seem to be great hulls and that have good resale value.

Hey Anthony, Most people in Denver go to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska, or Glendo in Wyoming. At least that's where my friends usually go. About a 3.5 hour drive.

Not my boat, and just a pic for reference.
Most memorable ride was in a 42’ fountain lightning with 2x775 hp sterling built chevys. We were smashing 5’ cruiser wakes at 80mph and 94mph in 2-3’ chop was highest I saw on the speedo. There was no “hold on” instructions as it was very self explanitory, you would be ejected from the boat.
Was supposed to be a 3 hour cruise, blew an outdrive after 2 hours so 3 hour ride home. Will remeber that day for the rest of my life.

I have a garage queen Four Winns Horizon. Nice boat in great shape, but getting rid of it in the near future for a center console. A460A4A4-8FAD-4281-92CE-744838F65B7E.jpg4A5359FC-17C1-476C-8ED2-EB3432AF6E2A.jpg 0469CB69-1512-47B9-80C5-D859B1EA3F9D.jpg

didn't really want to spin up a new thread asking for boating advice but wanted to ask a trusted (ish) group of people ;) I was looking for a center console today and found a really nice Key West 211 that has been meticulously looked after but... has 1000 hours on the engine. (1 owner, owned from new, bought and serviced at the dealer i'm looking at)

I know there's truth in the, a regularly used engine is better than a rarely used one but wondering if 1000 hours would scare any of you? It's a 2011 suzuki 175 for what it's worth..

    any opinions?

my largest concern is corrosion. If the system is clean then it should be good. My dad had a boat that we kept for 20 years, he maintained the motor, we rinsed the system after every use, and we used it every weekend. The motor never had an issue during that time.

Have heard Suzuki makes a solid engine. Maybe talk with a repair guy or take one with you to check it out.
