I have the pro suspension and have (2) shims on each side for 1" more of lift. My question for you guys is do you think I need bumpstop extensions with this set-up or not?

    Thanks for any responses!

My Bilstein 6112s came with two large diameter washers (one for each side) that appear to be about 1/8” thick, presumably to add to the stock bump stops. I set mine at the 1.9” ride height and added the washers to the rear most bump stops as a bit of extra insurance. Not sure if the washers were intended for those who set theirs at 2.5” or at any of the ride height options, though.

Does your TRD Pro have washers in between the bump stops? If not, it may be that Toyota decided they weren’t needed for an additional 2” of front ride height.

From what I'm told by credible sources, the bump spacers Bilstein provides is to prevent coil bind issues, not so much shock related. FWIW

No they don’t come with extensions on the bump stops. But he added an extra inch of ride height on top of the 2” Pro suspension so he’s wondering if he’s going to be bottoming the shocks out before the bumps hit. I’ve read that our pro suspension has integral bump stops. But I don’t truly know the answer.

You are correct with what I am asking. Hopefully someone with more knowledge and similar setup can chime in

I could use the answer to this question. Im rocking TRD pro suspension on my 2013 and am tempted to put shims up front because i have them lying around. I am probably just going to order the extensions to be safe.

I would like to know too; but on a basic level wouldn't you just measure the gap on your current bump stop and make sure that measurement is less than the measurement of your available to compress shock shaft?

Bump... Hopefully @Coachbuilder1 can help answer this question. My thoughts are if you add a .5” shim up front for 1” of additional lift on the trd pro shocks you should have CB bump stop extensions on the front rear bump stop? And maybe a 1/8” washer or two on the front front bump stop? I know CB pro kit has the .5” shims and 4 bump stop extensions in it.

The shims limit your potential up travel. I would rather chuck the shims, but if not definitely run bumpstop spacers to make sure the shock doesn’t bottom out before your suspension.

Measure your bumpstop gaps forward and rearward(different heights) before the shims and after shim install move the bumpstops down the gap needs to be the same. If you use to large of a bump spacer you'll be on them more often and the ride will suck

I have the RWD tundra planning on installing an rc 3inch leveling kit. I bought the complete kit since I didn't know that its only for the 4wd. my question is do I only install the leveling spacer or do I need to install the bump stop extensions as well? I know I don't have a dif in front so I won't be needing the dif drop spacer.

Bumpstops define the upper limit of suspension travel. A spacer lift changes the shocks ability to compress/extend in that suspension arc. Point your arm straight out and lift your arm up and down. This is how the a arms move as well. With a spacer lift, your shock will be fully compressed before your arm hits the factory bumpstop, thus the spacer

Yes buy a 1" spacer for your bump stops. @Coachbuilder1 has them.

Appreciate the replies. I already have the spacers as I mentioned I have the complete leveling kit. Will be installing leveling spacer and bump stop spacer only. Videos on YouTube doesn’t show adding a bump stop spacer even on a 4x4 unless it’s an actual lift kit. Which created the confusion for me if actually needed to install bump stop spacer along the leveling spacer. New tundra owner here I’m learning a lot fast in just the pass month since I got the truck thanks for y’all contribution.
