So I'm still very new to Tundras, but not at all to tuning. From everything I've seen in my two weeks of ownership, it would seem that most mods don't really add the substantial power that one might be used to with other vehicles. I think this is a great thing since it shows that the engineers are able to squeeze most of the potential power out of our engines.

What I've read with tuning is that although it doesn't make a difference in power, it does in throttle sensitivity, shift firmness, and reduction of torque management. Has anyone tested before and afters with DAP tuning to substantiate the gains? Not saying I'm not a believer at all, just want personal experiences.

    I’ve tested DAP and BullyDog.

BullyDog writes tunes for every situation. Long tube headers. Towing. Premium fuel. Etc. it allows you to customize the truck for the way that you drive it.

I know you have, I've watched many of your videos on exhaust and of course tuning. I also have an 18, so have a bit before I can tune.

What I'm asking for is real world experience. My 2012 Titan Pro4X had BDGT, Hypertech, and finally UpRev. Nissan is notorious for limiting available power until a certain speed is met, and it was gone with all 3 of them. When I finally got UpRev (and eventually their tuning version) I had all bolt ons (JBA LT, Cajun B-Pipes, exhaust, intake, traction bars, suspension, blah blah blah) and JWT cams on order when I traded it in. I had dyno numbers to prove what I had gained and the numbers with just the tune was verifiable and not a placebo. If you have before and afters of tuning demonstrating actual gains for 0-60s can you please link it.

Funny thing is, I have less than 600 miles on my truck and told the wife I wouldn't do as much as I have in the past....

NA, no tuner makes big power on a tundra like on a titan. It’s more for the tuneability factor. You can set up the truck to drive how you want.

    Don’t believe the hype;)

Guess I need to find someone in South Florida that has tunes and see if they can drive me in their truck. Once ECU data is released I'm sure I'll have more to ponder.

Thank you for answering my questions. Insomnia is a bitch. Guess it's good that I'm used to waking up early after 18 years of being in the Coast Guard.
