Has anybody installed a DV8 front bumper on a 2018 and are there any issues with TSS.

Looked at other bumper posts and I found this to be a grey area.

I have been doing a lot of research because I want a ranch hand bumper for my 18. They’re is one guy on FB that put a grill guard on his truck but cut th mesh out of the center and said he didn’t have a problem with the radar. That was 2 weeks ago and I haven’t herd anything since. But this is what his setup looks like. It gives me hope when I order my bumper replacement. 926B8748-E463-49B0-81FD-9BDA54E4B47D.jpgB79062CE-5828-4140-8846-7FA9A8616816.jpg

That punched steel mesh is quite beefy.Provides a lot of protection from rocks. Too bad you have to remove it.

I’m more concerned about hitting deer because I work shift work and get called in at weird hours during the day

I just installed one on my 18 and didn't have any problems on a 10 mile trip. Haven't tried the cruise control yet.

Fair warning. Stay away from that outfit. Ordered a Body Armor winch bumper for a great deal. Was supposed to be in stock. NO WAREHOUSE. Just middlemen. After a couple weeks....NOTHING. No one answered the phone. EVER. Sent a few emails. $ was finally refunded. Then I bought a crappy ass DV8 off eBay. Two strikes...

Please elaborate on the DV8, why do you rate it crappy?

Severe fitment issues. The power coat flakes away by just looking at it. I'm keeping it but had to lose the mounting brackets and come up with my own to level the bumper out. I've seen some of these fit perfect which tells me quality control sux. I'm going to have to refinish the bumper at some point. My 2 cents.

Thanks for the feedback. They are priced so reasonably, there had to be a catch.

The build quality is actually quite good. If you get one that fits correctly then it's a great deal.

But your post above said the quality sux, to me, when it doesn’t fit and the finish is peeling, that’s not good.

I wouldn't buy one again. Overall quality sux as far as fitment and finish. At least mine. The steel and welds are pretty good. Some folks who bought the DV8 had no issues at all.:notsure:

New member...picked up the DV8 from KO on ebay ... shipping was fast and no issues.... for the 600 bucks i'd say it was worth it...but it does has some fitment issues and paint on the inside is awful...if you have a porta power and little patient everything will come together ... the winch plate or main struture that mounts to the truck was the only part that didn't align correctly with the truck mount bolts....i pressed out the inside of the mount with the porta power and it slide right on ... aligned it left and right and but a couple of spacers across the top to align it correctly to the body panels. Put a smitty built x20 winch on at the same time... due to the two part design of the winch plate and the external portion of the bumper i added a second HAWSE plate. pre-runner bar is only held on with 6 button head allens...(not even close to my ARB bumper) but the ARB was 2200 bucks.... it's basically 5 pieces.... center winch plate... outside cover, wings, and pre runner bar.... the wings are actually perfectly aligned but there is a rubber gasket between that is there...

with all that being said... if money was no object I'd have an ARB like on my 2500HD but for the cost I can't complain....odds are I'll get the opportunity to use the winch on someone in the next few months and we'll see how it holds up... oh and btw the winch controller must be mounted off the side over the motor...no matter how much clearance it seems like before you put it together LOL .... access holes are very good and overall I was able do every part alone except for the wings .... needed a third hand ... took about 6 hours but I was really taking my time and it was a nice cool 110 heat index...

I hit a metal pole today about 2ft and cane to a complete stop from about 5-7 mph. And not a dent. A little scratch. But it already has a bunch of scratches and some rust. Def need to get it repainted soon. They’re paint is no good. I got mine for $300 I think because of little dent. I cannot complain. And yes I have the lights that are recommended for it. 3. 5” lights
