J-Tree in late August might land you on the evening news. Save that for a January trip.

    Love Coronado!

Clayton's Mexican takeout behind Clayton's Coffee Shop on Coronado has a pretty mean shrimp burrito. Not quite as good as Great Mex in Newport Beach but pretty darn good.

Damn, bro. That's nuts. Not at all what I envision when I think fly fishing.

Thanks all for the great ideas and recommendations. Just over a week away from our trip. Any meets or events happening on the 24th or 25th?

La Jolla is a must stop and while there hit Marine St beach. Just get on Marine St and head west it dead ends there and find a spot to park. Those bikinis are so small they will make your toes curl. Zoo is awesome but if it's really warm I would hold off on it. Carnitas Snack Shack is a solid hole in the wall eatery that's solid. Sunset Cliffs has a great place to jump off rock formations into the ocean. Watch out for the lifeguards though because jumping is illegal lol.

-I ate breakfast/brunch at the Encinitas Cafe almost every Sunday for 2 years. Homestyle diner with great food. Little hole in the wall and not typical for the area.
-Pizza Port in Carlsbad, if it's still there. This was also a weekly hangout.
-Torey Pines Glider Port. Pregnant Wife can watch some flying while you make the hike down the cliffs.
-Maybe there will be a race going on at Del Mar while you're there. Cheap fun. But I've always liked horse racing (actually gambling in general :p).
    -Coronado, neat place, nice beaches.
-Upgrade your rental to a 4x4 and go bomb around Ocotillo for a day.

I'm forgetting lots of things. I haven't lived out that way in 11 years, so take everything I have mentioned for what it was 11 years ago.
