Did my first oil change today. Book says 7.9 qts with filter. Put in 8 qts and dipstick shows 1/2 way between high and low on level ground. Turned truck around and waitrd 5 minutes to be sure, and reads the same. Not worried about it, just curious if others are seeing the same thing?

Also drained oil into quart graduated bucket and got @9 qts so pretty confident the dealer had topped it off predelivery

Just did my 1st oil change in the Red Freighter (2013 46xxx miles) and ended up with 9qts. I wish it had a oil pan that would drain all the oil.

Well if your sytem capacity is 7.9, like mine, I would say your dipstick is off.
