So...I originally had a Pro-Comp 6” lift on my 2014 Platinum CM. I changed it to the 4.5” BDS because I didn’t really care for that high of a lift plus I wanted the Fox shocks. Well, now I’m thinking I want to go to 3” or so and go with a system with a little more travel, but when you do the Pro-Comp or 4.5” BDS lifts they have to cut the cross member out.

I have a suspension guy that says he can fab a new cross member...do really think that’s possible and would anyone really dare do that? Or should I just leave it alone?

I guess it depends on how much you trust your suspension guy. If your doing a lot of wheeling and want a lift for articulation then I would probably keep the 4.5BDS. Safety to you and your rider are first priority. Good luck

You have to find a damn good welder and as post #2 says safety to you n riders is priority, I'm on a 6" lift, turns out my cross member is not cut it's a older model kit so I cud ditch it, think I'm looking to do 4-4.5"

BDS 4.5” Lift, Fox Coil with DSC front, Fox with Reservoir rear. Upper Icon Control Arm, AMP research steps, NSV Night Rider Light Bar. All LED interior.
I have a BDS 4.5 with Fox DCS, they can adjust for the ride soft for daily riding and add more stiff for offroad. I’m also not to sure about re-welding the cross member back. Of course it can be done but can it be certified?

OP, what did you end up doing? I've got a similar situation. Trying to get back to stock from a 6" lift. Thanks
