You can play by album, by artist, by song title.. You can shuffle in all of these modes too. It's actually pretty nice - the only down side is that it doesn't support FLAC (just mp3) so 90% of my media library doesn't work. =\

Okay, what controls do you use to select? Do the songs list in alphabetical or album order on the HU screen and you turn the volume knob to go through, or--?

That's a great idea to store a large collection, tiny and keeps the area clean.

I like a lot of different genres, depending on mood, and some different when my family is in the truck so playback is my issue with a large conglomerate. I prefer several different color 2GB USB sticks I leave in the center console organizer that I switch out.

By default they list in alphabetical order based on song title, artist, or album title.

If you name your MP3s properly "01 - Sell Out" "02 - Take on Me (Skacoustic)" etc, they will list in album order always.

If you are ripping CDs you can set up the naming convention so that it does this automatically.

Yep, stock unit. Once the deck indexes the files on the USB stick(takes a minute or so for 300+ CDs), go into the browse menu then chose the songs tab at the top. Back out to the main window and pick random at the bottom. It will randomly chose tracks from the stick. It will remember where it left off when you shut the truck down. I'm not in front of the truck at the moment, but if you want I can post pics of the menus.

This is the stick I have:

    Here ya go;

Tap the source button, then your USB device- I used rufus to format it to FAT32 and left the default name of 64GB since I have a couple different sticks:

It will take a little bit to index the device:

At the menu window for the device tap browse:

    Then tap the songs tab:

Then back to the menu window for the device highlight the random button:

I used Windoze Media Player to rip all my CDs to MP3s at the Best Quality setting(320 Kbps) and it nicely goes out and grabs the album artwork for me :)
You can see I've currently got 3596 song tracks on there.

these came today. Plan to use them as footwell lights. I want to wire them into the dome light switch. I just need to figure out which wires to tap into. I may pull the panel off and check the switch to see what's up with the wires. Has anyone ever tapped into the dome light? I see most guys using cargo lights for projects but I want to be able to turn these lights on with dome light.

I can't help with the dome light question, but I bought a few of these for various things. We use a large one and hook it into the USB port on our 65" tv. I have it set to "pulse" I think, so it slowly changes colors while it backlights the TV when it's on.

I also put them on the back of the night stands in our master bedroom.. Makes for great mood lighting.

I thought about that but figured the dome light does all that AND I can turn them on from inside the cab if I need to look for something.

This seemed like a necessity after a week dealing with the dark abyss that is a Tundra center console.
