They are not that bad. I paid $600 for the pair, then another $125 for the harness. Still less than I paid for the retros and I'm sure a whole lot less headaches too.

Toyota isn't that proud, converting to OEM LED is a lot cheaper on a toyota than a ford.

I need some new fog lights now. These are OEM 18 headlight low beams and you can see my fogs are on too, with yellow nokian bulbs.

Love them. Look much cleaner on your truck. Interested in what a retro would look like and how it would perform. Would be cool to use the Acura jewel LEDs but idk if youd need an 18 headlight as a base or not

Get the @Baja Designs squadrons and don't look back! You can get different lenses. I went with the yellow.
On some of the back country roads, I use just the fogs and I swear they're brighter than my low beams. Granted, with the 'driving combo' style I have, the light throw is not as long, but they damn sure are brighter.

One of my favorite mods/ add-ons, no question!

Those sequoia lights are so BA on the 2nd gens. I think the upgrade cost like double the 3rd gen but imo they are the best looking lights out there. Plus they are OEM so high quality and reliable.

    THIS ^^
The above photo is exactly what's wrong with retrofits. They are so obsessed with "OMG CUTOFF!11", there is zero light above the cut off. This is dangerous. When you look at proper projectors from auto manufactures they are made to scatter some light above the cut off, for things like, seeing stuff... signs, animals, hazards, elevation changes. Park any BMW, Porsche, Lexus, even domestic vehicle factory equipped, next to a aftermarket retro fit, and you will see.

if you want to fuss with aftermarket junk to have trendy 'cool' headlights, go for retros. If you want to install and forget, put in the OEM LED headlights and be done.

Well for those of us running OEM HID lights we don't have those problems.

Have you ever driven a car with factory HID lights? I am going to assume not since the lights in my wife's Lexus RX350 look exactly like my retrofitted RX350 tundra lights.

I actually have a picture somewhere on my cp of them side by side of the cut off. Exactly the same.

You assumed wrong. Have them in my 911, MB and former BMW. All factory equipped, and I can say without a doubt the OE HIDs are night and day different than the garbage coming out of TRS and the likes.

Well if you stop at Buttonwoods, make sure you get a scoop of Forbidden Silk Chocolate. The Butter Pecan isn't half bad either.

Thanks for the photo. I’m done with my 2015 Halogens and pulling the trigger on the 2018 LED. Looks like they far outperform what I’m currently using.

    What grille is that too?

Also did you use the headlight harness built by the other member on here? His name escapes me at the moment

    Now I have a gen 2 with a retrofit.

I used all oem products, Lexus ls460 projectors, modded them with clear lenses.

Oem denso ballasts and osram CBB bulbs.

No issues at all and outperform damn near everything on the road. I have all the width in the world and a nice cutoff.

Retrofits can be done wrong obviously and I have seen too many disasters out there from using cheap components and cheap shortcuts to mounting the projectors.

With that being said, I would swap my headlights for the 18’ sequoia LEDs in a heartbeat. I love the look!

You get the hang of them. Definitely better than the Halogen . I think I’m set if more light is needed ;)
