You need to keep all your options open.
We had a 2001 Tahoe. Drove like a Caddy. Tons of room. But, the Diff leaked like a sieve at 75,000 and the tranny was slipping like a bitch at 100,000 so I off loaded it for a 2010 Highlander.
The other sad part was in 2010 they offered me a trade of 4600. The sticker in 2001 was only 37,000 but damn...

I always wonder why someone unloads a truck like that so quickly. I know the OPs story. Maybe it’s the same situation but it would be nice to know.

It certainly would. The carfax shows 5k oil changes done at the dealer as well. Funny thing is it was purchased at one dealer in town and traded in at another.

that's not a bad idea, actually. To be honest i get sick to my stomach every time i think about selling my "dream truck". I will literally lose about $9k if i sell now, so surely i could do a conversion for less than that... or i just say f... it and double buckle the two youngest kids, ha!

I'll get on board here...I bet you can source the parts and swap the console seat and shifter for waaaayyy less than the $9K (probably more like $12K with all the taxes, accessories and other BS) ass beaten you will take jumping out of that Pro and into something else...

Id rather have the shifter on the column with the front bench anyway...I hate the console shifter...uses up too much room in a cab that has shit for storage as it is...

My oldest son turns 16 in October and I bought a 2000 Toyota Tacoma for him to drive. I figure between school, working, and dating he probably won't be much with us anyway.
