I live in Colfax right next to Yankee Jim's. Yankee Jim's and Iowa Hill are very easy dirt roads. Nothing too exciting except for going to the river. Expect flocks of people at the river on the weekends though.

Well if you ask my wife I don’t need any of them.

I am currently on cooper 295/70, but I want to move to true 35”s.

I had been planning on getting some BAMF sliders since I bought this thing. When I got impatient I went cheap with some Smittybilt M1 sliders. Sturdy, but you lose clearance. Looking to upgrade these.

As for protection I am running the stock Pro plate.

Your tires are good enough, a few of us run that size. But you’ll definitely need true sliders with more clearance. Are the Smittybilts mounted to the frame or body? We’re actually running Bald Mountain on Sunday. It’s a Red trail and clearance is definitely going to be required.

Hmm I’ll be close to there in Sequoia this weekend... I should probably start on some blue trails until I am confident with my setup.

Smittybilt does mount to the frame. I have jacked off them and they will support the weight. They have a bottom third bottom rail and mounting bracket that hangs below the frame. That is my issue with them and why I want to upgrade. They missed on the functionality.A43E0360-2A5F-447F-A681-CCD4A75FFEE3.jpg 0FD54205-B264-42CC-913A-BCB091F96BF8.jpg

Nice, at least they’re functioning sliders. You definitely should be able to run some blue trails. I know for a fact those won’t clear Bald Mountain though. Start preparing for our next trip, I’m pretty sure it should be an easier trail. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Or if you want to hop in one of our trucks on this one, you’re always welcome to come along.

I live in Woodbridge, just north of Lodi.

We are looking at adding a 2"-3" lift (can't go much higher then that or my wife can't climb inside the truck, she is only 4ft 7in tall. lol), rims/tires, spray in bedliner, bed cover, off road lights, baja bumper with winch, etc... We want to be able to do some trail running and maybe some overlanding.

We are still shopping the parts we like the best and hope to start the build in the next month or so. There is a lot of good information on the forums here.

Welcome Michael. First thing is; in this area trails are TIGHT so expect some pin stripes on your pretty paint. A wrap might help but I don't know. Also stay away from spacers and bracket lifts if you wanna go off road. Good coil overs for the front and leaf pack for the rear are what I'd suggest. Get sliders ASAP and before you hit the trails, skid plates too. You can run Spider Trax or Bora spacers on your stock wheels to gain some clearance at the UCA. Or new wheels with a +18- +30 et. A couple of companies make 17" wheels that barely fit over our huge brake calipers. 17s are less expensive in every respect and offer a better tire selection. Hub centric wheels are best. I've got 18s but kinda wish I had 17s.
