I too have been looking for one for my vanpool van. Been leaning towards the Garmin 55 although the other riders think it's too expensive.

Thinkware F800 here. The wifi to smartphone interface is useful for reviewing an incident but the startup notifications are a bit annoying. Video quality is excellent and helped alot when someone ran into me back in March. Will probably add a rear camera in the shell at some point soon, would have made it alot easier to catch the guy that hit me since he was in a rental vehicle and not the driver that rented it.

You should throw the Rexing V1 on there. It seems to be a pretty popular lower-cost option and gets really good reviews. I'm between that and the Garmin 55...

I will look into that one as well. I cannot justify the cost of the Garmin 55 for a vanpool van but would for my own personal vehicle.

Here is a write up with photos of the VIOFO install on my 2015. (there are lots of guides like these on the forums for our trucks)

I have the VIOFO A119 and have been happy with it. I liked it so much I bought two, and installed on another of my DD's. i forget its there, nothing to fuss with. biggest draw back, no rear monitoring which prob is what matters the most.

To everyone using a Kenwood head unit, have you tried the Kenwood DRV-N520. I'm not interested in the forward collision, lane departure, and departure delay warnings, just how it works as an actual dash cam.

I just picked up the new Viofo A129. I believe it's the same sensor as the A119S but you get both a front and rear camera... I just need to figure out where to mount both. I have the stupid TSS bulge to the right of my rear view where you placed your front camera. As for the rear, it's sliding so that's another issue...

I got this one for my other car but not sure if I want to put it in the Tundra. Dual cameras and parking mode.

    Maybe I'll get another one.

Mine has it too. You can record while in park for the time you choose. Great for parking and let it record should someone bump into you.

Honestly, I'd just check out the Amazon daily deals and wait for one of the cheap Chinese dashcams to drop below $50. I've seen the SpyTec/Viofo A119 pretty cheap on there before and it gets pretty good reviews. I bought a Rexing V1 3rd Gen (to match my 3rd gen Tundra, of course :anonymous:) and it works great, but I kind of wish I spent a little less on a different one. Once you get it all hooked up you kind of just forget about it. Unless you like to watch your boring drives you'll really only watch the footage if you get in an accident or something crazy/hilarious happens. I'll be getting a cheap Chinese cam for my wife's car here shortly.

You can hardly tell mine is there...

I have an 18 Tundra with Toyota Safety Sense and I want to get a dashcam for the Tundra as well but worried it will mess with that black module thing (think its the lanewatch assist) if I put it right next to it. Has anyone had any problems with this for those who installed Dashcams? Also is there a Dashcam that you can stream on youtube with? I can't get any of those links to work on my phone and I will not be home until tomorrow.

EDIT: I know I probably have some loaded questions but I have been looking for a dashcam for the Tundra for a bit now and just came across this thread.

3/1.5 lift. TRD sway bar. Bakflip V1 cover. Fuel wheels w/BFG A/T.
Picked up the Rexing V1 for $69 on prime day. Install time was about 30 min and there is less than 2” of visible wire. Setup took less than 5 min. I’ve already reviewed a few videos and quality is outstanding. It fits well behind the mirror and I can barely see it. Highly recommend! I wanted a dashcam so I could record the insane number of jackass drivers here in San Diego! Doesn’t come with an SD card. But I picked up a class 10, 64GB for $18. So I’m still into this this thing for under $100
